Saw them at ozzfest don't remember what year but they were incredibly dark & beautiful. So proud of discovering them at towers records 2003 in NYC. I was also one of the few ppl to discover the sword-age of winters album. And yet have been called a poser on a few occasions. I'm not talented, or beautiful but by god I remain true self to this day. Ratm evil empire helped shaped me to think for myself. Judge ppl by their actions not their words. Keep an open mind. In short stand for something or fall for anything. Food for thought

34 years old and have listened to countless hours of music, this song is my favorite of all time.
@Lord_Sweeper2 жыл бұрын
A lot of people think this song is about a giant black hole enveloping the earth, but what I’ve come to understand is, that this song is about dying. It’s about the world and universe as you know it coming to an end. It’s their heaviest song. It is the essence of what death metal is, and that is, death. “No religion could foresee” all religions can preach about what happens after the moment of death, but it can only be experienced by the individual. Trevor was a philosopher, a scholar, and a gentleman. His genius will be sorely missed. I love you TBDM family. Stay strong.

Proof you can be happy and play metal at the same time. I would love to spend a day with these guys. THESE guys in particular. Not the new line up. Not that there's anything wrong with the new guys but something about the good ol' OG Miasma and Nocturnal crew just makes me feel good. Especially when I watch Majesty. Traveling the world with your best friends while playing amazing music has to be the best feeling on earth. HAIL!!!
@ThinkingIsHard1310 жыл бұрын
I am not going to be the dick that has to say "well actually that isn't the original line-up hur dur" but I do want to point out you are forgetting about "Unhallowed" which was released before Miasma. The only reason I point this out is because if you haven't listened to Unhallowed...you should definitely jump on that! Funeral Thirst is still one of my favorite songs by them, along with Hymn For The Wretched. The biggest change in sound to me tho was Ritual. Ryan Knight joined in 2009 but Deflorate was released in 2009 so I imagine he didn't have as much creative influence on Deflorate (except for solos) as he did Ritual, and I think it shows, even more so after listening to Everblack and hearing the subtle things that put Ritual and Everblack apart from other TBDM albums
@jamdwhi10 жыл бұрын
ThinkingIsHard13 Well thanks lol. And I know this isn't the original line up. I own every cd they've come out with. And I've studied them religiously for years ha. I'll be honest though im not a huge fan of Unhallowed. Trevors vocals weren't fully developed yet in my opinion. And the riffs were kinda metalcore somehow. Only with blast beats so that made it seem heavier. That's just my opinion though. Not trying to dog anyone elses.
@jamdwhi10 жыл бұрын
ThinkingIsHard13 But yes I agree that Ryan Knight changed the sound of the band alot. But I heard it right away in Deflorate.. Not just with solos. John was long gone by the time they wrote that record.

Yeah, if you're playing to enough people each night to make a living from it… I assume black dahlia have been for a long time now. Seems like for a lot of bands, financially the golden milestone is to break even on tour.

jamdwhi John Kampainen was apparently a piece of shit and didn't write much as far as solos. Sometimes Trevor would have to help him write his solos.

Have you noticed Nocturnal was just a masterpiece altogether? I mean production and originality to the fullest extent, appropriate and didn't take itself too seriously. It's almost as if they were 100% humble, in their prime, and finally had enough funding to do everything they dreamed of. I just don't see them putting out anything that even comes close to this album. So glad this song has over 1M views \m/ \m/

+Hiram Arias C. Forreal. The band said themselves that he didn't contribute much to the band but I refuse to believe that because after he left they didn't even sound the same. Comparing Nocturnal to Deflorate is night and day. Nocturnal you have yourself some this dark and evil atmosphere, and on Deflorate you have this Neoclassical kind of shredding with none of the dark and evil atmosphere. I love every TBDM album but their first three records are untouchable.
@dvrds8 жыл бұрын
+IAmWhoTheGodsDetest Definitely, I agree, those three are majestic. And Nocturnal is probably the most black dahlian record they recorded. Their biggest contribution to the genre. Even though I'm a big fan of Deflorate (I will return and Necropolis are mindblowing), it cannot hold a candle to the atmosphere, energy and rawness those 3 records have.
