Whahaaa, well thank you very very much. You pronounced my name very well by the way. About this solo, when I first heard this song I never expected to get a solo like this. For me it makes this song kind of unique. You are right. They also have quite a few songs that sounds like noise, but there are some brilliant songs like this and Moonlight equilibrium or Nightbringers. There's more variety and melody in those particular songs. Thanks again. Did I mention that Allegaeon just dropped a new song? Just saying, one time......😊

Got to see these guys with Behemoth, Nile, and King Diamond back in the early 2000's. Pretty insane live band that I hadn't heard of at the time. Instant fan!

You should listen to 'What A Horrible Night to have a Curse' by Black Dahlia Murder. It is a pretty different but great song.

the black dahlia murder was my favorite band for a lot of years. my personal favorite, that I still love, is the album Nocturnal from them. In my opinion the best album they have ever brought out. And I gotta be honest, they kind of lost me at the 'Everblack' album. They still have a special place in my heart, but its their weakest album for me.

If I may add my personal favorites from them: Everything Went Black, Deathmask Divine, I Will Return, Moonlight Equilibrium and The Raven. They all are worth a listen (:

@@ninasoftic930 Still high up on my list today! I have to say though, I think Everblack was their weakest album. Still great stuff, but not a very accurate representation of what they're capable of.

Nocturnal was definitely their best album. That Deflorate/ Ritual lineup was their strongest in my opinion, however, if that makes sense. I think changing lineups and recording Everblack hurt their sound a little bit.

Enjoyed that. I think like you I knew of them and probably head stuff by them, and have a vague memory of their music being quite chaotic, but not sure, either way I was never bothered by them back in early 2000s. The production on those riffs made it for me, as you say an old school feel to it but crisper, kinda like Amon Amarth (not in sound but in quality if that makes sense)
