What I love about the Black Eyed Peas is they have no signature sound. Most other groups you can tell who it is on 3 notes. BEPs have a new fresh sound with each & every song 💕

I was 22 when this came out, and working in Europe. (I'm a NYC guy normally, and I never understood why this song only hit big overseas and not in the states....it's their BEST song!) Also, as a gay theater-loving man, the "fight" section in the bridge always reminded me of the Dreamgirls fight scene before "And I Am Telling You" where they all fight. "Effie I put up with your bitching...." et al. This was SO huge in Germany when I was there and we LOOOOOVED it. America didn't know what they were missing.

Sadly, this is common for songs that are more electronic. The US obsesses over Rock, Rap, and Hip Hop. I always felt like I belong in Europe!

I was listening to them a lot back around 2003/4, in my 9th/10th grades, and at the moment there was also Green Day's American Idiot, Gwen Stefani's What You Waiting For?, and Sean Paul's Temperature. Gee, you just mad me feel like putting those songs on again ! :-)

I'm not ashamed to admit that I went to a dance school. I was the only boy in my class at the time, surrounded by 15 girls 😁. Well, that didn't hurt, but it shows how popular it was to go to dance school as a guy, doesn't it? 😅 This was a song we danced to. I guess the girls were Fergie and I was supposed to be one of the guys from the Black Eyed Peas. Of course, as a 14-year-old white guy from Germany, I was never as cool as will.i.am 😄.

If for whatever strange reason it passed you by when it came out, which as you said you don't know how that happened! Still plays on radio in US and all over the world with music video. etc Yea it w asn't a hit single in the US, but was off of their hit album which was a hit in the US-Elephunk! + had US hit singles off of it like: Hey Mama, Let's Get It Started.
