I like this but it essentially a rework of Larry Levan's remix of - Stand On The World by the Joubert Singers. Which was already remixed by Feadz in 2008 as 'Stand On The Word'.

+Neil Ramjee ur thinking of KEEDZ and there's really no similarity between the versions... sings get remixed, over and over again... and that Keedz thing is dated AF so chill
@austinmartin4848 жыл бұрын
the producer who made this track is Angel Alanis, BMs ghost producer..heard he made it in a few days..just shitty that so many of these top 10 list djs dont even make their own music
@waxmaster-c7 жыл бұрын
Larry Levan never remixed that song. It's a myth. The original version you're referring to is by the The Celestial Choir from a very rare gospel LP. Read here: daily.redbullmusicacademy.com/2016/05/stand-on-the-word

i heard about this lady through that commercial on vice about how horribly persecuted those poor female dj's are. i heard they only can afford 7 records to a man's 10 because they are so destitute.
@jameschang23698 жыл бұрын
glad to hear youre hearing about black madonna via vice, but vice is a bit of a joke, female djs can afford just as much male djs.

if u cant create your own music, simply take a great piece of music, chop it into any looper, reduce the magic to a 4 bar loop, put some drumloops beyond it and call yourself a producer.... what a discgrace for the orginal track

You have no idea where original "house" comes from then.

Hehe yes man, let's see you do it soooo good when it's so easy
@theampcollectivehousemusic8 жыл бұрын
Ahhhhh. The track is hot. Producers remix, edit, dub track since the first house track was made of of a disco track.
@danielauster33208 жыл бұрын
I hear what you're saying but the goal with house music is to make a song that kills it on the dance floor. Brings the house down. Has everybody swaying and grooving, etc. To achieve this goal you can work with WHATEVER YOU WANT. Loop packs, old disco records, or all your own original sounds. It's not so much where it came from, it's more like "is it fun to dance to?" Those producers who suck and just rip off disco records will not have a lasting impact as electronic musicians in the end, but those who have unique ideas or know how to make a track with a great hook will rise to the top. Basically put it to the test on the dance floor at 5am when everybody is primed and ready. If it has everyone smiling then you did something right, even if it was just choosing a few bars of an old song and putting a stomping kick on top. It's amazing how bad dance music can be when not made well. Try it yourself, I think you'll have a new respect for those out there making records for us.

Larry Levan would play the Joubert Singers Stand on the Word track because his grandmother was part of the church where the song was born, so basically the black madonna is appropriating a gospel song and has not paid any respects to the black Christian community, irony at its finest!
@shamsheerg75192 жыл бұрын
What is "appropriation,"? I want to know, Thanks.
@antonimosanonimos897011 ай бұрын
@@shamsheerg7519 bullshit. Apparently if you’re white you can’t not sample a black singer/musician.
