I can't get over how easy you make it look. Great job
@averagecornenjoyer63484 жыл бұрын
It's already easy enough. Just practice, since it's unusual, but when you get the way of playing it it becomes easy and you be like "wha, was it THIS easy??" Since it is mostly trembling your hand on the piano and the arpeggios are just one hand form, lowering the fingers and jumping quickly on another octave and doing the exact same thing. It's repetitive but it doesn't really sound like so.

@@averagecornenjoyer6348 its not just playing it, he literally composed this entire thing, the chords are repetitive so he had to make sure that they all work well together, and adding bass that will cover up the repeating parts. It doesn't just take practice and then its easy for you all the time. It takes serious time and effort for each god damn peice and i hope you respect that.

From what I’ve collected, there are three styles of Lionel Yu. 1. Simple, pretty, soft, and generally in the middle of the piano. 2. Staccato, loud, epic, chords or octaves, generally in the bass side of the spectrum. 3. Flowing, difficult arpeggios in the left hand and insane, melodious, very high chords and octaves in the right hand.

Ooh, this was a pleasant surprise. I was literally just looking for The Black Star to listen to and ended up finding this new rendition. I must have missed the initial upload since it's on a new channel, did something happen to Musicalbasics? That being said, it sounds fantastic as usual. Still the same piece I know and love, but with some nice changes. I see you changed up the melody up a bit at around 3:20 and later on; it fits beautifully and helps differenciate it from the first part. Not much else to say other than I absolutely love this entire piece, especially with a new fresh variation. Music aside, the visuals in this video were perfect, it looks like the notes are rays of light from the black star. You never fail to amaze, keep it up!

Looping this like crazy and that rythemic patern at 4:01 and 4:08 is really catchy! you also used it at 3: something but it didn't get the change to be discoverd as much because of the solid chords..... What long did it take you to find that this motive would sound perfect? Also because of the suspencefull sound i guess it's called sus 4 if going from the E minor? Another part 1:20 remind me on some motive from the musical Jekyll and Hyde.
