This might be the most beautiful song I've ever heard.

Can't believe how well they pull this off live. Those harmonies are sublime. Thank you.

It's insane, especially with how complex they are & all with 1 mic.

The three of them have been playing together since they were children. It's amazing how a good band can basically read each other's mind in the moment, but you take a band that's been playing together since they were kids? These folks take it to another level.

it is no easy feat to intentionally sing out of key (even just as a pitch shift) in 3-part harmony. You mostly only ever see that with barbershop quartets, and they aren't playing instruments at the same time. Really beautiful dissonance! I also want to thank Chris for doing so many of these single stereo mic recordings over the years, since at least How to Grow a Woman. There's nowhere to hide, and you can feel it in every breath.

The single stereo mic really captures their magic so well! I was lucky enough to see both Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers on separate occasions, using only 1 single stereo mic. Their band dynamics are so great & natural!

I just wish they would perform live in the same positions as the recorded version with Sara center and Chris left. Although some of the recorded voicings seam to move around and not always match the instrument, the vast majority of their recordings have consistently featured mandolin left, fiddle center, guitar right.
