Bill Shaw wrote this song 🎵 "I'm Thankful" He was a Type 1 Diabetic who live to be 94 years old. Having known him & having also had the opportunity to sing with him, he would always say How Thankful to GOD he was for all GOD had done in his life!

That wonderful tenor is Bill Shaw, who sang with the Blackwood Brothers from 1952 to 1973. He is joined by James Blackwood (1934-1969); Jimmy Blackwood (1969-1983, 2004-2012 & 2016) and the incomparable JD Sumner (1954-1965) with Wally Varner (1959-1964) on piano. The group is still going strong after some 83 years

Bill Shaw wrote the lyrics in the 1950's. I haven't been able to verify the tune but I believe he wrote it as well.
