@@iXSIKOBOIXihow does that cannonize the movie? Kubo himself said "I’d be happy if you could watch the movies as a parallel story rather than considering it part of the official canon."

@uraharakisuke1329That quote wouldn’t particularly make sense, since Ichigo himself said he’d been there in the valley of screams. That statement alone makes the first move cannon, as that’s the only time he could’ve gone to the location even within the story.

i kinda always felt its a shame they never put more effort into making more cannon content for bleach movies(aside from the 1st one) cuz bleach probably have the most interesting lore compared to most anime, like why not make movies about the great noble families and their relation to soul king in the past, or smth about the downfall of the shiba clan, or smth about the original gotei 13, or maybe even smth more recent like about ginjo's past and his relation to soul society
@salmannazeer268826 күн бұрын
Ginjo's past is already explored in the novels

Yeah it sucks but the Bleach movies are definitely relics of the times they were made in. Before we really had much canon movies. If you compare it with Naruto and One Piece, Bleach also got a lot less movies as well. I also think that during the times the films were made we didn't really know much about things like the soul king and original gotei 13 so they were pretty limited with what they could do.

@IzK724 ...Atleast they articulated his ideas in Movie 1 even though he wasn't involved, that's probably why Kubo Canonized this movie, ... while Rest movies didn't even involve his ideas. I don't understand, how foolish Studio Pierrot can be, I get that most of Naruto movies suck too, but .... Bleach movies had exceptional prodution quality so.. why not involve Kubo to make it a great Experience all together. 😮💨
@IzK724Ай бұрын
@@ska4666 I imagine this has more to do with scheduling conflicts. The first 3 movies were released in 2006, 2007 and 2008 respectively. Because of this I imagine there wasn't much time for pre-production as 9 months is a pretty average schedule for an anime movie which means that they'd probably try and get it done as quick as possible so they have enough time to make the film look good. This matched with Kubo being a full-time mangaka probably meant that discussing and creating a film would have been very time consuming and difficult for both of the parties who were on strict schedules. And this is probably why none these films didn't have much input from Kubo. Hellverse on the other hand which came out later in 2010 was meant to be based of Kubo's ideas. This is probably because they had a lot more time to actually discuss with him. Unfortunately they didn't go with any of his ideas in the end either because of creative differences or because maybe Kubo's ideas were just too ambitious for the film.

@@ska4666I am pretty sure the "ouken" or Royal Palace key was also in movie 2. Squad zero mentioned that Aizen wants to create his version of ouken. But I think I missed the ouken part in the manga and non filler anime adaptation until TYBW arc.

The filler in bleach in general is weird, not cause of the amount of it but because some of it is really stupid in terms of the decisions they make. The first 2 filler arcs are trash to mid but the villains have their own new powers. The last 2 are great but the villains have identical powers to the soul society. And the powers of the filler villains do suck with a few exceptions which is completely unlike canon. Baiken has no special abilities, kusaka has hyourinmaru, dark rukia is alright and kokuto has no special abilities and the side villains powers are lame too but i won't go into them. And why were there never any fillers with the vizards and arrancars. Grimmjow and ulquiorra are so popular. So dumb Also the animators always lose steam for the final battles in these movies. Compare the final battle in hell verse to the battles near the start. Why are the most important battles the worst animated? This is a common bleach thing too. Happened with ichigo vs aizen. The animation in the first 2 movies was pretty mid in general though there were random anime that were older than it which were better animated than them. No surprise they didn't exactly do great in the box office. Btw every dark one from memories of nobody is named somewhere. Not sure if its in the movie itself or supplementary material but they're all on the wiki if you ever need them for any reason. All i remember is the main guy is baiken, the girl is benin and the black dude is Jai. Kubo hates bleach hell verse btw. Not hates but he wanted his name removed from the credits cause he sat up all night discussing ideas with the director and stuff and then they barely used any of them. You can see something closer to kubo's vision if you read the chapter he wrote which is like a prequel to the movie. They adapted that chapter in episode 299. But since 1 chapter isn't enough for an entire episode they added some random stuff alongside it. And now in the manga kubo is addressing hell. Will probably be very different to the movie. Old anime staff kinda shafted the series a lot with their confusing choices.
@IzK72425 күн бұрын
Thanks for all the extra info! I do disagree with generalizing the animation of the first two films to be mid when there was definitely some great cuts in the films. Whilst I don't know too much about how anime films are produced I imagine the biggest factors determining the final battles quality is probably due to the staff that was available. Seeing as the longer the films would be in production would mean more resources being taken away from the main series. Also a Bleach Remaster would absolutely go crazy!
