@@LetsGetitBoah the original is intentional cheesy B film that is classic. Is the remake classic? No. I also prefer original The Fly, than Cronenberg's film. All these 1980s remakes suck, including The Thing. These movies rely too much on gore yet the content is almost non-existent.

I love the continuity at 1:04/1:05--we can see the grenades going off inside the blob--showing the strength of the mass now. Quick, merciful death as oppose to melting, too.

The blob was able to react to a threat, determine where it originated, figure out how that threat could be neutralized AND then respond and eliminate the threat with minimal effort. THAT indicates a human level intelligence.
