May I please also ask about the opener - DS HS DS HS - wouldn't it be a DPS increase to do DS HS HS DS? Since you won't be >= 100 runic power, there should be damage increase through the DS glyph. Generally any time you can use HS before DS when under 100 runic power (without wasting runes ofc) it seems like an increase. Is this true or am I missing some detail? Thank you very much for your time!

It has to do with your rune regeneration timings, but tbh, before your first empowered rune weapon I don't see a reason why not to do HS DS, DRW, HS DW HS DS, ERW, DS, HS, DS... etc. It's very minor amounts we're talking about, but I'll play around with it and see how it feels.

Hello, may I please ask what you think about Crimson Scourge talent - would you recommend it over Virulence or Butchery even on single-target bosses?

At least one point seems to be big in CS, but one point in virulence could be better than the second point. It is according to sims, but not sure about in actuality. Butchery is worse than both.

Quick question: Do you lean towards always using Dancing Rune Weapon after the initial Death Strike and and Heart Strike versus waiting and fishing for the perfect snapshot? (I've been using Heart of Solace, so trying to press the button in that small window when both the trinket and Fallen Crusader proc, but before Golem's Blood runs out... they don't always line up nicely).

I personally can't see a world where that's worth, but I may be wrong. You just have such a big window of high-value spells in your opener.

Yep, value between soft and hard cap is constant, so no need to hit cap for it to be valuable.

Yep. DPS set is just better stated than the tank set, so unless there's a reason to have a longer wall (maybe Baleroc solo tank?) then DPS 4 set will still be the play during progression (but ofc more mastery).

Melee speed buff unfortunately doesn’t scale with rune regen

Whats the reason to not drop scarlet fever in the second and third set of talents? Is that because no one else is phys damage reduction in your raid?

Because it's a buff only brought by tanks, and most people play with feral druid off tank, so he's not going to go into bear every 30 sec to demo roar. Further, there are a ton of fights where you're on separate targets, and not having that -10% dmg taken feels a bit grief.

Regarding Abomination's Might: Is it worth dropping it even considering the 2% total strenght it gives?

If you got a blood dk on your raid then you can drop 2/2 abomination's might and pump more on blood caked strike/Runic mastery or Virulance (depending on the talent stages shown)

Yeah even with the 2% str all other alternatives are significantly stronger. Only time you'd run it would be if you don't need scarlet fever (spoiler alert, you always do).

Interesting-- can't see what would require two globals. I use: #showtooltip Dancing Rune Weapon /Use 10 /Use Blood Fury(Racial) /Use Dancing Rune Weapon And would ofc swap /use 10 for a trinket if I was using an on-use trinket.

I think you're referring to outbreak? It's the spell that allows you to apply your dots to the target on a 30 second cooldown. Should be in the unholy part of the spell book.

Stacking buffs, pots, cooldowns etc that are all up at the same time to use an ability or pet to give it max effectiveness. Like a potion, glove enchant proc, trinket procs and casting Ghoul or fire ele totem or a spell that you can keep 100% uptime on without refreshing it.

Army doesn't taunt in raids, just dungeons.

Army doesn't taunt bosses, but there are pulls where there are adds where you don't want to army pre-pull. Nefarian, for example, along with Sinestra unless you pre-pull at 15 seconds.

I have engineering and alchemy, but any profession outside of skinning and herbing will be equivalent, with tailoring being the most offensive option.

It’s because that’s the point when you reach 7.5 second rune regeneration, which due to having a 1.5 second gcd will give a lot of value in cases where you are GCD capped. Making a video for it in the coming days ☺️

But what is the point of this? Yes there's no such thing as too much dps, but surely survivability is something that's good to have and not need, rather than need and not have because you're trying to compete with the DPS?

Because gear and stat weights in cataclysm are itemized in such a way that "tank gear" is not as desirable as it was in previous expansions and proper use of cooldowns and rotations are in most situations enough to sustain through a fight. Keep in mind that specifically for Blood DK going for a haste/dps gear build offers the same if not more healing than going for a mastery/tank gear build while also doing more Dps. There is no reason not to as the only drawback is having less Dodge/Parry which is a RNG stat that doesnt push normal hits off the table like a block tank does.

You also do not need to go fully offensive like Riyani. He mentions this. If you are progressing you can go just with the S tier list and stack enough mastery to be above 100% (can even push more mastery if need be). Haste will increase your passive healing and mastery will keep you alive for any physical damage taken. Haste and mastery have great synergy.

If you’re fine with doing no damage that’s fine, but you’re not sacrificing survivability with the things mentioned in s tier. If anything just switch strength food for mastery food.
