I had friends who lived in Edgehill overlooking the battlefield. Anyone interested in this battle should read Kipling's poem Edgehill Fight. "and the brothers of the maids we love make ready to lay low their sister's sweethearts, as we move against our dearest for" is one quote from it which about sums up any civil war.

I agree. The year of release should always be put in the description but I went to the end credits (luckily they weren't obscured by pop-ups this time) and it was released in 2001.

Why would the cavalry leave the field during battle? Ran out of defence materiel? Supply problems? And it happened again. It'd be interesting to find out the exact reasons. Good show. Om River Christian Channel.

They left in order to plunder the baggage train and parliamentarian camp. Lots of stuff to steal including supplies and money.
