😢🥲 Thank *YOU* for saying this! It's wonderful to know that I'm not the only one who feels that the rulebook for The Bloody Inn is awful. Why would I be given instructions on how to build an annex before I'm informed what benefit an annex provides or why I would want an annex in the first place?

A fan of Edgar Allan Poe and this game and the art work on the cards has all the atmosphere of his works and so I am going to have to add this game to our collection. Also another great show, keep up the good work on the solo side of gaming.

Too bad the Carnies expansion doesn’t really seem to be suitable for solo play! Maybe only 25% of it. Because this game looks really entertaining for my solo play and I would love to have added that expansion.

One of my favorite solo games! Small footprint, quick set up and tear down. Very excited for the expansion this month even though it appears not to have solo rules with it. Hopefully it will add enough "meat" to interest my friends more and give the game more depth.

It’s an excellent game. Was introduced to it a few weeks ago and immediately went out and purchased it. What made it so appealing was the monumental amount of strategy apparent in such a little game. About the only thing I have honed in on strategically, is to bury bodies under opponents annexes when their francs get close to 40 but they still have yet to launder the money. It’s pretty obvious that when you have to launder liquid assets into Cheques, you’ll want to do that as close to 40 as possible. So, if you’re sitting there at 33 (for example) and someone buries a 26 under your annex then you’re out of luck (to some extent). Until I realized this strategy, I never really quite got why you’d bury your bodies under other peoples annexes.

SoloMode Games funny you should mention that. My first time was at a local board gamers meetup and when the guy brought it out none of the parents would let their kids join in. We ended up playing Jamaica instead but later I did get the opportunity to chop up some bodies 😇

Good video. Btw when you are playing solo you are not allowed to pick and choose which room to put visitors in. Instead, you put them into the rooms in numerical order according to the order they 'arrived' (ie: were drawn) in.

Thanks for the playthrough as I just picked this up with a gift card. My rule book has you pegged as a "Dangerous Innkeeper," however! The first level is "Troubling."

You took 3 actions during one of your rounds.... At 27:17 your first action was bribing the peasants, second action was burying the body. Then when you realized you would have missed out on money you back tracked and laundered your money then buried the body using the peasants from your initial first action that you never put back.

Mark Craddock I haven't tried it, because I heard it wasn't really compatible with the solo mode, although I'm not positive about that.
