@@janethill1668 They brought back a lukewarm version of it. Relying on Phils drums & the synth, etc. Theres one person, who will remain nameless, that appears to have overdosed on 80s music & pop culture. Even the name is str8 out of the 80s. Some of them are good, tho. The ones that sound like they were plucked out of the 80s & brought to this current time. The familiarity can be so strong that I feel like I **am** listening to a song from back in the 80s. Christine & The Queens 'Girlfriend' is one that does a great job of capturing that sound/vibe. +Andrea Scott But do you remember in the 80's, we were told : "today's music is rubbish". People were comparing it to the 60's and the 70's. It wasn't as good as the 60's, as that was probably the golden age of pop music, and maybe it wasn't as good as the 70's, but it was so much better than most of the 90's and 2000-2015. 80's music has stood the test of time, a lot better than many thought it would.

I lived in all those decades, and the 60's was the best, although a bit too young to appreciate it all, and it will never be repeated as times have completely changed. Each generation seems to look down on the previous, and it will always be the case. However, I have never heard so many moaning about the state of today's music from the '00's onwards. There are some good artists around, indeed music, but nothing like anything I and so many others enjoyed in previous decades.

Good one hit wonder song, at least in the US. I can remember learning to drive a car at age 15 that summer and this song was popular. I also remember as soon as that song peaked at #14, it dropped down the charts faster than August 1986 was long.

I so remember this song as it was a big hit the year 1986 before I got married which was 1987. When I first heard this song back then I fell in love with it and the video as well as I played it over and over all that day as I just love the beat of this tune. I wish they had music like this now. Nothing better than music from the 1980's. I am almost 64 years old and I still love this music and still groove to this great song and music of that era!!!

Met Dr Robert when he came into the music shop I was working in in the early 2000s. Needed his guitar fixed for an acoustic solo gig he was doing in town that night so we took care of the guitar for him and he put us on the guest list. He was a pretty humble but friendly and charismatic chap which made me happy since I bought this single when it came out and it's always when your musical heroes turn out to be nice folk.

This song is absolutely fantastic, I haven’t heard it for years, how come it’s never on the radio, the intro is great and the song itself is ridiculously cool without even trying, just like Robert himself, his photos on record covers are all so effortless, like he isn’t trying to sell himself, this used to be on a compilation album that I would listen to every morning while walking around Nunthorpe in Middlesbrough doing my paper round early in the morning along with Alexander O’neal, I’d love to find that album again !
