Love this recording. This was in a movie, perhaps a Disney movie about Johann Strauss's life. I can still remember the orchestra was playing and someone came up to the conductor and whispered into his ear. He stopped the orchestra and played The Beautiful Blue Danube real slow at the announcement of Johann's death. It seems to me, even slower than this piece.

Does anyone remember a movie where an orchestra was playing when someone comes up to the conductor and whispers that Strauss has died and the conductor conducts the orchestra in a super slow Blue Danube? It may not have been a move about Strauss. I just saw the Waltz King, by Disney, and it was not this movie. They never played the Blue Danube in this move. The movie I am referring was shown on TV in the 1960's. The piece was played much slower than this, like a funeral march.
