The Blue Jays were never "Finalists" for Ohtani. He was always going to the Dodgers. His agent just used them to drive up the price, then sent them a thank you card with hearts drawn all over it. Soto's a great player, but if the market price is $550-600 million, adding on the "I want extra to play in Canada" tax takes that up to what they offered Shohei, and that is too much. Fire Atkins, hire someone with more creativity, and use that money to plug two or three holes, not one.

I would love to get Juan Soto, but if I would have proper back up plans if/when it doesn’t happen. As it was said in the video, always have a pivot! I would consider Anthony Santander a good option as well; and reuniting with Teoscar Hernandez would be very good too. I would also keep Tyler O’Neill and Jurickson Profar in mind, as options as well. What would you guys think? Is there someone I’m not thinking of?

Forget Soto, it isn't happening. Atkins needs to fix that sewer of a bullpen, sign Vladdy, and look for 2 or even 3 bats with some pop to compliment Vladdy. Running back the majority of this years team isn't the answer if we are to compete next season.

If they do get Soto, can we afford Guerrero Jr. and Bichette, if he's playing the way he can? I like & thought Soto would be a target but not a real possibility. We need a catcher, LF, 2B or another 1B/DH, 2 or 3 Bullpen arms & 1 or 2 SPs. We do need 2 good hitters behind & ahead of Vladdy for sure though

The Chapman contract just SCREWED the Jays...Vlad will now want an extra 100M ($400M+) Hey, I played 3rd based 5 times! The Jays aren't signing Soto. Trade Vlad and try and get 3-4 players that are 70% of Vlad and much, much, much cheaper. A 12 year 400M+ Vlad deal will screw the Jays up for 10 year. Vlad will DH the last 5 years and hit 12-15 HRs.
