I drove exclusive for a company about six months. He was ripping me off with his insurance. It was to point i was basically driving for free. I have my own insurance now for a dirt cheap rate because I'm a senior with a clean driving record. Tomorrow i hope to get my first load with a another company. I've got two carriers lined up.

Local actually takes a lot more work and it also takes about 2 to 4 weeks to get a local contract because it always depends on availability and then this game you actually wanna have multiple contracts and then you will make really good money
