The BMW M2 G87 gets a MASSIVE Sound System Upgrade!! *Alpha One Speakers & Woofers*

Hey everyone, welcome back to Daily Downshift! Today we're upgrading the lame Harman Kardon speakers, woofers and tweeters in the BMW M2 G87 with a proper setup from our friends over at Bimmertech. They have made an Alpha One sound system kit that's plug and play and which will pair beautifully to the Alpha One amplifier already installed in the car. This system includes 2 woofers, 7 mid range speakers, 3 tweeters and 2 additional tweeters providing increased power, bass and clarity.. all things missing with the OEM sound system. Enjoy the video!

I have my 6th BMW on order for May (2024 M2) I have an M340 with the H/k system and a 228 with the base Hi/Fi system. The base Hi/Fi system sucks as far as clarity. I had a match amp installed with a Gladen sub amp and a dual JBL sub in the trunk, spent over 4,500.00 and it’s sounds amazing with the stock speakers. The biggest change is adding an amp that can be tuned. In my m340, I simply added a sub amp and a Memphis Audio 12 sub in the trunk, for less than 1,000, that system sounds 98% as good as the 228. Bottom line, the H/K speakers are good speakers, all it needs is a real sub (the 8”s under the seats are really just mid bass drivers) and then you can tweak the sound in the cabin with the equalizer. I will do the same with me M2 when it comes in, no need to spend 2500-3000 to upgrade the whole system and take the whole car apart FYI, tweeters are speakers, the other speakers are called midrange speakers. Together they make up a component set. A speakers can’t generate more power, power comes from an amp.

just an FYI on speakers; Butyl surrounds & treated paper cones make some of the best sound reproduction possible. Be careful shaming them based on that. Also, the size of the magnet is not as important to engineers as they are to customers.

The only sound system that you wouldn't need to change is Burmester. Harmon Kardon is good, but not amazing.
