I am so happy to hear you say what you said about BMWs and their technology. I've got a new 2021 M550i and referring to the wireless car play, you say, we are all Beta testers because "sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't." And that is exactly what I find. And don't call them about it because their so-called BMW Geniuses are impossible to reach by phone these days and at the dealership, they act like you're stark raving mad or an idiot who doesn't know how to use it or you are the only one with the problem. I have a colleague in Romania who has a friend who works for BMW in Germany and she says their technology department is a "nightmare" True story!

Got my 2023 6 months ago which i love. However, mine is a coupe. The convertible is nice but somehow, the sleek lines of the car are not the same as the coupe..great video

Great video again - you deserve many more subscribers. The 8 is a bit too much for me - heavy and design wise - its like the last hurra of the fuel burning cars before we all will drive electric. Beautiful GT for relaxed driving, BMW upped the quality of interior and the iDrive is industry leading.

To maintain connection with Apple CarPlay you need to add a wifi antenna at the back of the audio system. I did it in my M240 and after this, it works perfectly!

Drove one a few months ago at a BMW event where they give your a route on the open road to take and we got "lost" for a good hour. Man this car is f--king bad ass! Just not sure how well it will hold its value over time. Thoguhts Moto Man?

The engine revisions are vs last year’s engine, not the coupe. ie the 650i. This is not the first classically designed BMW in 17 years, it’s the new 650i with a badge upgrade because the 650i was the most expensive BMW, now the badge matches the price. The M850 was designed and engineered as a cabriolet so what you’re feeling is by design. When was the last time you bought a German luxury car? Yes, they’re expensive, by design, to keep the commoners from buying them which would destroy their exclusivity. Do you ask your country club why they charge $200,000 to join and then $30,000 a year to be a member? It’s to ensure all members meet a minimum caliber of social status. The same principle applies to all luxury brands. Value is a word that never belongs when reviewing a luxury car. Price is forgotten long after quality endures.

The Apple CarPlay issue is weird. In my M40i it never disconnects. SOMETIMES it’s a little laggy but usually corrects itself in a few minutes

Really informative, candid and forthright review, I like the fact that you are brutally honest which is refreshing. I love the look of the M850...I did notice that the view of the rear glass is almost a mail slot look of chopped roof 50’s lead sled. Is disheartening to see the extra option charges on a $120+ GT car.I would think certain options as you stated that are standard on a Hyundai would be included. I would opt for a throatier exhaust cat back system to hear the engine, is the engine noise artificially piped in through the sound system? Great review MotoMan

I think all cars next should have blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert mandated by the government. With these large c pillars and larger blind spots on newer cars even the Mazda 3 hatch this tech is necessary in my opinion.

Those so-called 'revisions' to the engine, are they in comparison to what's under the bonnet of M850 Coupe ? Also BMW really should raise the speed limiter on this car,if not completely remove it. 530hp V8 topping out @260 Kph is just hilarious. I'd just limit the regular cars to 260 kph, raise the 'pseudo-M' cars such as M850i&M340i to at around 280, and just fully unleash the full-on balls-to-the-wall M cars

Recent BMWs, like this one, have really begun to remind me of Pontiacs and Cadillacs from around 1970. Pontiac went to bigger grilles that the big BMW nostrils remind me of.
