Bought the full version with USC2100 and adaptor cable when my ABS front brake started to let me down. Bought it after I saw Your other ABS actuator vid. Thanks for putting in the effort and sharing the knowledge. Took also a failed (and ridiculously pricey - they also broke my airbox cover and did not stand up to it 🤬) try at the random stealership to convince me about Wladimir's tool, but I love it. My (very cheap) X-Country had a pretty rough life, and to bring her back to my personal standard, that scan-app and OBD tool are priceless.

The X bike is my first "computerized" bike with interface so far (and by far the youngest, too 😄), I have BMW first-gen. K-bikes (75S for every day and one of the very first K100 "in restoration"), a slightly improved Thunderbird Sport for strictly sunny days, she's sporting ancient carburettor technique, as my Ducs, Guzzis and Laverdas have it (which mostly are a retirement plan) .... Cheers 👊 EDIT: Oh, and by the way: Did You open the special Brembo PS13 handpump the ABS-versions have? I opened it when I did not succeed sufficiently with de-gassing the ABS-Block alone (while it got very much better with the de-airing proceedure). To open that version of the PS13, You have to pull the roll-pin that's underneath the white mushroom while the piston is pressed away from the roll-pin, after that removal the piston with two rubber umbrellas can be pulled. Be careful to keep the rubbers intact and have an eye on the way it's assembled - non buyable unobtainium, as well the rubber as the specialized pump form for ABS-versions as a part, so far as I would know. In mine, there is also a venting function to bleed the pretty complicated ABS-version pump properly: The Allen bolt on the front end. After bleeding a first time everything, we opened that and de-aired the rebound vent that is particular to these PS13 ABS pumps by slowly pulling the lever towards the handle bar. If there's air, You'll hear the bubbling. Close the bolt again, pressure is much better without air in that chamber - as You would expect. I do not know where else these ABS pump versions of the Brembo PS 13 are built in, but I could not find a bloody single one online - tried a PS13 from an Aprilia 650 without ABS, which did not work well in the ABS X-BMW. Tried another PS13 from a BMW F650 GS which was also differently built, but did not work with the ABS-X-Bike version either. So I honed my pump where corrosion from never changing any fluid and standing a lot without use had left a rough surface, put it back together and also changed the little O-ring that is on the Allen-bolt in the front end of the pump. When I de-aired that chamber at last after using the "old-mechanic"-procedure, everything went from good again to better still. Only thing I have to do now is somehow changing the brakeline with the rubber-part - that's proper effed, too, and needs changing - visibly bulging when pressurized 😲- a sh*tshow, as lots of other parts of the bike. New lines for the lower front brake part are on order. 😁 Should my honing not work longterm and should I not find where these pumps were available, I probably have to sleeve the PS13 chamber - would like to avoid that if possible tbh. Fantastic work , I have the R1200RT 05, and the dreaded fuel sensor failure ie no reading of fuel in tank and no range reading, could you confirm that the MotoScan UCSI-2100 would be able to re collaborate a replacement in tank sensor ? Thanks. Keith.

I have never did replace it, but there is a menu in the motoscan app: 'Calibrate fuel strip' 😉

Thank you for all your BMW GS videos. I have bought the Motoscan app Ultimate and USCI 2100. I have connected it to the bike. All 3 lights are showing on the app. (R1250GS) It shows most of the menus but cannot connect to the Tyre pressure monitoring module, or the electronic headlight module. Is this normal? Sorry to bother you, I have looked all over for the information but there are very few details available. Thanks again for your very helpful videos!!

To see the tire pressure you have to 'wake them up' for the rear tire give it a good swing, or start the engine and put it in gear ON the centre stand. But becarefull !! Ofcourse the TPS has to be fitted on your bike 😉

The motoscan app doesn't work on IOS, and according to the devoleper there are no plans making the appp for IOS. So just buy a cheap Android smartphone, you don't need a sim card just wifi connection. Then look in the discribtion below for the things you need. 😉👍🏻👊🏻

I have 2011 BMW R120R with tire pressure sensors, but there is no option to add tire temperature to the instrument cluster. Older GS can do this (other model of instrument cluster), but I cant find this option in motoscan. Isn't my instrument cluster compatible with this option? I have ultimate edition of motoscan.

​@@bjejoh I have a 2011 R1200 GS. I bought extra spoked wheels for the off road thing. The standaard Alu wheels have TPMS and are fitted (factory default) to my bike. The new spoked wheels also have TPMS sensors, but I had to install them myself using the MOTOscan app. Now I have two sets of wheels with sensors, all four of which are recognized by my bike. So it's possible NB!!! you do need a Tpms Reset Tool El 50448 to activate the sensors otherwise the bike dont see them and you can't install them

Hello, The Old Mechanic. I need your help. You mentioned that with the Motoscan I can invert or rather program the bike to use LEDs. I want to change it to LED but I don't know where exactly I should go on the motoscan to be able to reverse it. because when I installed the LEDs on mine (BMW r1200rt 2009) it gave me a warning that the lights weren't working and suddenly it turned off. Can you please make a video or give some instructions on how to do it?

Hallo old mechanic. Kan ik met deze app ook de 35kw software begrenzing van mijn 800gs, 2017 (elektronische gashendel) verwijderen? De dealer kan het sowieso doen maar het is nog best prijzig. Aan de motoscan app heb ik sowieso een goede investering. Ik heb net mijn volledige motorrijbewijs gehaald 😀.

Goede vraag! Deze vraag heb ik namelijk ook. Voor zover ik goed opgelet heb bij het begrenzen, bestaat de 35 kw begrenzing uit twee handelingen: 1. max toerental begrenzing (wat eventueel met motoscan app weer te resetten is) en 2. mechanische gasklepopening beperking dmv ander beugeltje waardoor gasklep minder ver open gaat. Het originele beugeltje heb ik meegekregen toen de beperking uitgevoerd werd. Inderdaad erg duur voor wat het eigenlijk maar inhoud. Het zijn erg fijne motoren, maar je weet wat BMW betekend hè? : Bring My Wallet :)

Hi. I bought the ultimate version. I have a BMW c400x motorcycle. I wanted to set the service interval, but it doesn't work. I have an OBDLink CX adapter. Motoscan shows that there is a connection between them, but they do not communicate with each other. It says the device is not found. If I look in the bluetooth devices in the motoscan app, the obd reader is there. I just don't get it. What could be the problem. Can you help? It cost €160 so everything doesn't work. I'm desperate.

Did you also tried to delete your Bluetooth paired devices and then pair the obd link again ?

I looked at the Motoscan app website, the OBDLink MX+ and the OBDLink LX and the UCSI-2100 will work. I think your OBDLink CX just isn't the right one.

Yes, I already tried that. In my case, the phone lists the device "OBDLink CX" among the bluetooth devices. I push it, it pairs, it writes out a code asking if I want to connect. I confirm that it is, and then the connection will be active. In the motoscan app itself, if I select the obd adapter for bluetooth devices, it shows green that it is fully compatible. And yet it doesn't want to be good in the end, the device is not found, it says this when I look in the adapter check menu. Do you understand what I'm writing? They recognize each other at first, but then they don't.

Buy cheap, buy twice 😂. Not sure though if the limit is on the hardware dongle side or if the software is artificially selective about dongles. Anyway buy the proven set - it saves lot of money.
