Five main factors: 1. Unemployment 2 Corrupt cops 3 Discouraged good cops 4 Gangs 5 Substance abuse (tik and alcohol being the worst) At the very least we should look for new approaches to substance abuse, looking at the example set by Portugal who, by decriminalizing all drugs, have managed to undercut the profit motive enjoyed by the gangs. As to unemployment, it's up to Uncle Cyril to deliver on his promises by cutting down drastically on our bloated public service and working together with the private sector to create wealth at all levels of society

I think you live in a bubble. Visit West European countries like the UK, France, Germany, Sweden etc. They are crime zones due to kowtowing to liberal politics and Uncle Sam. Countries which are still conservative like Bulgaria, Poland etc have low crime rates. It's time to accept that China, Japan, Singapore, UAE and South Korea have good policies and systems which reduce crime. Otherwise keep fooling yourself with solutions which will never work in a million years. Crimes rates in the UK are similar to South Africa, Colombia - knife attacks, robberies and gangs everywhere.

Dr. L. MacMaster, we are not addressing the root causes. Addressing the symtoms is feeding into narratives propagated by the political and corparate powers that be. 1. Moving forward by dismantelling the systems that has brought us here. 2. Progressive implemntation of mechanisms that will develope and support strong family. 3. Investing in each and every individuals future. Ensuring quality education. Skills base, giving our people opportunity to grow economically. 4. Set targets to achieve such a plan. it will take time. 30 years ago China embarked on a plan the results are clear. If RSA persist in catering for the wealthy and worry about corporate interest as appose to lifting our people out of poverty. The farcical notion that building the economy by providing for the wealthy must end. Greed is their game. Exploiting the poor. Lastly i would like to add is stop having this sensational, inconsequential discussions, start a revolution lets do something radical to show that we are serious that we are prepared for such sacrifice.

We get out of this situation by voting a party that is competent to govern, cutting red tape, ripping up policies that smack of racism, ensure ecomonic growth for all with job creation and holding people accountable in government at all levels in doing their job and providing a service to the people of SA who pay for their salary.

I lived MANY years in Cape town and was once sent a video by a Colored male who was on a social media group I was in, and I was DM'ed a video which shows a surprise head shot assassination of a young happy laughing Colored male who clearly thought the killer was his friend, and the killer was the person shooting the video, and I asked why was he murdered. "Because he was full of Shit", was the answer. I think the real fact was this was a ritual killing for rank in a gang, and the one member was selected by the group to be the sacrifice. There was another case in Mitchell's Plain where a Muslim male youth, about 12-14, who was not a member of any gang, and who was a good kid in a conservative family, was selected to be murdered by youths in the area who were his own age, and then the killers mutilated the victim's face, and took photos of the victim on the victim's phone, and then sent the photos to his mother and family in his contacts. I also remember the gang-related rape and murder of Valencia Farmer in Eerste Rivier in June 1999. This is how perverted the situation is. TIK is another scourge that has destroyed empathy and respect within communities. Corrupt cops, or the state itself, allow it to happen. Overcrowding and sub economic poverty levels are another major impact. They have shown in rat experiments what happens in overcrowding situations, and all the behaviors of murder and rape and gangsterism become manifested in the rats. (Google "Sloan's Rat Utopia behavioural sink" to learn more about the rats research) All of the affected areas must be evaluated in terms of the criteria of "Behavioural Sink" environments, and wrt overcrowding. and i BET the behavioral sink parameters will be showing. Those who traditionally transfer a value system to youth, ie parents, are not able to make any impression on the youth. Schools are no longer safe learning places, but are arenas for peer-induced negative behaviors. This is not the fault of the present city government, or this or that political party. It is a value system crisis that permeates the entire Colored community, and requires a serious collective conscience evaluation of the Shadow aspects of the community. The problem is in the Community. The Solution is (ONLY) to be found in the Community. No outside help can fix this. It is a Youth value system crisis, and the inculturation of youth into gang structures. The pervasive reach of the Numbers prison gangs of south Africa into life outside of prison, is another factor, to the extent that such thinking and collective mindset has infiltrated every aspect of the people's family life and neighbourhood. .

Blame the community. When the police arrive in these areas, they are being shot at or stones are being thrown at their vehicles. The community do not want to talk out of fear. Then there is the police who is in cahoots with the gangsters. It's a whole cycle. @@petruszaayman6707

Discipline and values starts in the home and community! Where are all the”fathers” the “ men” in South Africa? The ones that should be an example to the next generation?
@Charlbb
@Charlbb 4 ай бұрын
Agree 100% with reference to the values and discipline starting at home. The ANC government takes away these rights from the parents. It now rests with Government. Parents have ZERO rights concerning their children. Study the BELA bill in South Africa, and other legislation relevant in other countries. Regarding the "fathers" or "men" and their role and responsibilities. Let's be clear - Governmnts and Society in general - by means of the "emancipation of women" (same jobs as men, same rights as men, same status as men...but not the same treatment and responsibilities as men - the men have to still retain those despite having been stripped of all righs, dignity and respect.) have by means of the gradual and purposeful degrading, deminutive,and denial of men and the position of men in society, managed to "elevate" women to a position whre they feel or inagine themself to be "above" the men. Women today, want to rule society, women want to reserve for themself a "new role and positoin" as if they are the men and everyone else is under their authority, and must do as women dictate (how, what, when, where, etc.). Men are methodically and purposefully shoved aside, and told what, who, when, where, why and how things should run in the general dociety. We even find women preachers in pulpits, CEO's of a companies, Rulers of Governments, etc., etc. Throughout the ages, men were the ones who - by Almighty God's decision and decrees, were the leaders, kings and decision makers. Satan and women in general, didn't like this, and rebelled against Almighy God's will, and through craftiness and cunning, persuaded society to force the men to relinguish their God-given role and position, and allow women to - with almost military discipline and precision - expell the men, and gradually confiscate that which did NOT "belong to the women", because it was Satan's aim and ultimate goal to destroy that which Almighty God had created and established from the very beginning. We now even have a situation where a male child / female child can "choose/decide" what "sex" they wantr to be, and through nothing less than Satanical motivation and inspiration, have their original "sex" changed to the opposite sex, and wrongfully believe that this is "who and what" they should be. Most - if not all - of teh chaos we face today worldwide, is as a result of this ungodly, satanic attack on society and the lives of men and women no matter what the cost (physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally). Ultimately, the human race will be untterly annihilated (destoyed). It is past time that we the people took back what belongs to us, take it away from the governments that do/will do anything and everything to demolish society and its role in the lives of people to degrade and subject people to their selfish, satanically inspired and driven agendas.People should "wake up" and read, listen, and understand what is happening, and free themself from the sheckles that bind them. If we honestly and wholeheartedly repent of our wicked ways and turn back to Almighty God, He will hear us, be merciful and save us from our enemy - Satan. Then, and Only THEN, will we all (men and women) be free and at peace.
