Absolutely brilliant video. In my own stupid accent "That's properly brilliant that is." If I had just one criticism it is that Clipper mermaid of the seas was not the first commercial 747 to fly. It was Clipper Victor/Young America, but none the less still brilliant.

I preafer A380 but in my opinion the 747 rest the most beautiful legend of our sky with concorde. Without Boeing concurrency, Airbus wont be so good.

The 747 has the airframe which is much better than the a380 no matter in the aerodynamics and the beauty, plus where can you find any flights carrying more than 500 passengers?(Except for Japan domestic routes in a certain festival which they don't operate a380s)

The 380 is suffering from slow sales because it's simply too big. The 747 family has the familiar cockpit and cargo configuration. To date no cargo version of the 380 has been produced; a consultant concluded the 380 would have slightly better payload capacity than the 747-8, but trip costs per ton of cargo would also be greater. The 747 simply has the elegance and the familiar lines known the world over. Sure the 380 is an engineering marvel, but is it really that good looking? Practical? Airlines overall are moving away from large aircraft; the last thing they need is a double decker with a massive seating capacity.

before any fights or arguments against the 747, the 747 was built in my only knowledge in the 70s and 80s, the Airbus is built way after so the 747 is the winner, nothing beats the old 747 :D And why do you think a new Air force one 747 is being built!!!!

Boieng has made the 747 decades ago... and the Airbus 380 came in 2005... and at that time... it was not possible for a double-deck plane to build...Boieng made it possible.... it is the greatest plane of all time.... few countries use A380 but almost all the countries use 747s

Did you know? The Pan Am registration that was used in this video was N739PA. Do you know what this means? That plane was bombed over Lockerbie Scotland in 1988 as Pan Am flight 103
