JRSchiphol how are you surprised about 500k views? You should honestly be surprised that it isn't more than that! Ik that many people who've watch this video have said this so many time, but this is a work of art. First off, I gotta say, you did a great job making this video feel as much of a honor to all of those people who've died on those flights. I've seen some people do plane crashes on fsx as a "let's just recreate it" sort of thing, but this here feel like a genuine memorial to these accidents. Secondly, the music and editing is perfect for this. The way the video flashes out after every crash to the cinematic views of the cockpits as the plane is going down, and the music, which has that sorta sad memorial vibe to the subject matter. Now I can't say that this was an easy project to make, must've been hell in the software, but it sure did pay off. Lastly, i really appreciate the hard work you put in to this video to honor all of those lost souls. I can't say you're the only one who's done this, but to me, your version of it is the best. The fact that you did this just to commemorate these disasters in a really respectful way already makes this video worthy of these views! I heard that you're making part 2 of this soon and I just gotta say, as hard as you might try, I feel like this will always go down as being the best, just for basically everything! May these lost souls rest in peace.

I watched this video a LOT when I was little, and rewatching it today in 2019, I see this video differently to how I saw it at the time, and want to put up a few notes about it. First of all, this is a beautifully made video - I give props to JRS for that - but second of all, it makes you think deeply about what had happened back then. The emotional scarring that people got because of these events... It's like a blood stain on a carpet - you can do everything to clear it, but whatever you do, that stain is still there, regardless. People have PTSD because of such events, and can have in the middle of the day flashbacks of these crashes, and the people lost... Whatever way you slice it, the 1270 deaths leave massive emotional impacts on families and others alike, especially those who witnessed those deaths. I mean, do not tell me it's not mortifying to witness a 747 without two engines nosedive straight into a set of apartments that have people living in those. May all of those deaths involved rest in peace.
@cchris8745 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is true. Like any loss or trauma, there's probably never a day when one doesn't think back to the event. It's always there on some level. And yet, it's also remarkable how many survivors have found the strength to move forward. Not everyone can do this easily. But humans are remarkably resourceful if given enough time. I remember the words of one woman, who lost someone on TWA F800. Some years later the the NY Times she wrote that she had "rediscovered happiness." if memory serves. That sticks with me as much as the sad toll such events take.

To all the aviators out there, things will happen. But if you try, then you succeed. If you give up, you don't achieve a goal in life that you can complete. Nothing is impossible. Follow your passions and you will have something to do. Remember these people in these crashes. They followed their passions and had a point in life. Some were pilot error, some were engine failures, and some were weather conditions. But personally, this is what I think. Follow your passions and you will always have a light of success. That light will grow bigger as you go. Follow your passions and never give up.

Not to sound heartless, I know that these crashes were terrible, the thing is, these were the exceptions. There are millions less deaths a year in aviation than in say, cars. Flying by plane is technically the safest way to go places. When things do go wrong though, they definitely do go terribly wrong.

+Keil Gilby Yes, the co-pilot "kicked" the rudder from one side to the other, for which obviously it is not designed. But I think he isn't really the (only) one to blame. As far as I know, AAL trained their pilots to react that ridiculously to encountering wake turbulence, which was what happened to them. May all who lost their lives in those tragic accidents rest in peace. And let's hope disasters like that on Tenerife (damn that idotic KLM pilot ...) never occur again. +JRSchiphol Great Video. Truly serves its purpose as a memorial for all who died. *thumps up*

+Keil Gilby Didn't mean to insult KLM. But as far as the investigation found out, the KLM pilot was in a hurry and took off without the necessary permission. The transcript of the CVR is published online, where it is clear that he didn't make sure that the Pan Am 747 was already off the runway, and he seemed to give no sh*t about the opinions of his F/O. And this still makes me angry. Although I know that this accident was a unlucky chain of tragic coincidences (if the KLM 747 hadn't fueled up, she would have cleared the Pan Am etc. etc.), misunderstandings, a cowardly act of terrorism (separatists set off a bomb at Las Palmas, the actual destination of KL4805 und PA1736, which caused the diversion to Tenerife in the first place) and the bad weather (which also lead to the mistake by the Pan Am crew, who vacated the runway one taxiway too late ...).

Gaming Blueberry I actually regret that I used the Afriqiyah crash since it was not so special and the conditions were not realistic as they were in real life and not a lot of people knew about it. Appart from all the dutch people because the only survivor was a dutch boy. Anyways. Yeah I think I wanted to do that crash with the 727 and the cessna collision (not sure what crash it was) but FSX kept crashing so I didi something for finish it fast. Should not have done that. Anyways, yeah the amount of crashes was limited. Even though I made the song SHORTER and edited a lot in it. Thanks for watching!
