If anyone is wondering, like two years after this aired Chonda’s daughter did an interview and said she resented her mom because she was never home. She was on the road and helping with the church and never raised her so she left when she turned 21 to make her own life. Turns out kids hate an absentee father who goes on the road and cares more about their own interests. Take notes Jay, who openly admits to never changing his daughter or going to her birthday

This is pretty much the one show that I was lucky enough to be on board of since the very first episode, and as far as I'm concerned there is no 'new bonfire'; there's no Bonfire anymore. The show ended when Dan left and I haven't listened to an episode since. I actually felt resentment and betrayal when I heard Dan left. I know it's dramatic and sht but I remember him saying that no matter what else comes along in his career he'd always be there with Jay and be part of The Bonfire. Multiple times. And I actually believed him; I really wonder how Jay feels. Cause from what I know it was pretty much his chick that he settled with who (at least partially) pushed him to quit the show.
@mooose106

@@JohnnyNatrium yeah i hear what your saying dans vanilla is lacking in the show now as jays filth runs rampant and bobby isnt fast enough to come up with anything other than max, dawn or buying a new house. Agree its not all his fault and its shtty when its all put on him. If you listen to knew shows ive felt this idk tension or something that feels like its all coming to and end soon. This damn show is the only reason i pay for Sirius
@foofighter484
@foofighter484 4 ай бұрын
@@mooose106yeah I have to agree, I've felt that same tension over the last few months. Good point above too that without Dan, Jay's cynicism and "make fun of anyone and anything for a laugh" method runs rampant and Bobby isn't quick or comfortable enough to reign him in. The attacking of Jacob lately has been pretty rough; no matter whose side you're on, it just makes for an unfunny and awkward listening experience. I wonder how many more 45-min live-on-air Jay vs Jacob arguments the show has left before everything just starts to unravel. Sounds like the magic is gone.

Why oh why did Jay not pick DeRosa instead of Bobby? Bobby lies about everything from his youth, by his own account is raising an insufferable turd of a kid, has no rapport with the crew, and brings no humor to the show in general
