simply because of what i discovered through college classes, i fell in love with classics. i ended up getting a minor in it, and my professor steve was in love with plato and was a fabulous representative of his work. it truly changed my life and i am so encouraged and thrilled you’re covering the work of socrates and plato. truly the answers and wisdom for life!!!!

@@geologist3010 Ok, sure. But this is not what Plato says. Plato is a pre-gnostic who is arguing that we will be saved by KNOWLEDGE and not by faith. This is exactly the heresy that the whole West fell into and which gave rise to leftism, University-based radicalism and eventually Wokeism. What is the point of falling into the same trap?

I still don't totally understand the cave. It's just supposed to be a metaphor for whenever humans are caught in the grip of crazy beliefs? Which happens frequently. But it feels like it's supposed to be more than that. I just don't totally get it because who can say what is 'real'?

Its futile if the Philosopher take ruling role... coz it isnt their forte running the system! Philosopher only take the advisory role and repreresent as advisors to each classes. Each classes have its own council and the philosopher will intellectize the policy they propose and explain to the council pros and cons and its moral ground! That is the better system that is more dynamic... Why Zhuangzi was apolitical since it would be contradictory for him to do so since he knows being an emperor (the emperor offer him to be emperor) being killed will come easier than philosiophizing alone in a remote river or lake somewhere. But he dont mind the emperor be his student so that the emperor could chance be a more just Ruler than the typical rulers the comes before the current one! Zhuangzi no longer concern of the evils of the world or physical world coz he knows its a natural dynamics and accepted it and not be part of creating chaos just establish order! Zhuangzi had it right... but the philosophical principle are the same but in different plane but can be super impose with each other to give western philosophy (which is more scientific approach) as parallel on logical abstraction and deduction to a simpler principles but intriguingly profound that is thought provoking! The difference between neoplatonic and daoism? Daoism is about Philosophy about Deflation and neoplatonic is a philosophy of inflation! daoism is on the exit and neoplatonic is on the intro... start and end! So the one must find the middle ; p

@@fi11222 Faith from the Latin fides (fidelity) derives from the Greek pistes (trust) and as a Christian you ought to know our faith is indeed evidence based, because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ Almighty God. As the Apostle Paul said, if there is no resurrection then we are to be pitied, but because there was a resurrection we have blessed assurance in eternal salvation through Jesus Christ Almighty God. Or to quote Lewis... "Faith is the art of holding on to things your REASON has once accepted in spite of our changing moods." We have faith because of reason and evidence.
