Gambit ain't that bad, but the quality of games this season was ass. If you are a good gambit player you will constantly be matched with guys who know absolutely nothing about how to play, won't invade, don't know the invader spawns, bank after first rotation etc. My winrate this season is abysmal.

When you eventually get to voidlock, you should take Ruinous Effigy + Nezarec's for a spin. Add in volatile flow from the seasonal artifact and it goes absolutely nuts. My personal best game with it so far was 60 motes banked and 95 kills... and still lost. I felt like I needed a new spine after that match :/

How to win gambit in season of defiance: Bricks from beyond. That's it. Use a void machine gun to clear as many orange/yellow bars as you can during the beginning few add waves. Make sure to have volatile flow and bricks from beyond equipped on the artifact. Energy weapon ahould be a pve void special to get the heavy ammo engine started. Kinetic is personal choice, but izanagi's is probably the best. (Double special because special does more damage and snipe is very good for pvp) You should get enough power ammo to carry everything you need to do, whether reap, invade, clear blockers, or anti-invade. If you have a team, you may go for 1 reaper with a machine gun and another pvp-focissed player with a separate power weapon still getting free ammo from your add clear. Subclass honestly isn't the most important. Void on any class is very good because of devour for add clear uptime, but most setups can work. Primeval damage has been power crept hard, so unless your team goes for an immunity phase skip, dps strat won't matter more than getting to envoys fast. Good pvp is always the core of gambit success, but the infinite heavy paired with izanagi's 4x for a body shot kill even through invader overshields should give you a leg up on your opponents while also providing efficient mote collection to help tip the scales in your favor. Ding.
