The Book Of Mormon - "I Believe" - Drum Cover

Several months back, thanks to my talented friend Julian Bond, I began producing drum cover videos with 360 degree green screen treatments. So I started going through my archives of videos I did in the beginning that were just in my music room and mostly 1 camera shots. This drum cover needs a disclaimer or two. First of all, the content in this song is offensive to just about every demographic of ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual preference, you name it. There is also profanity in the song. Only once, but the big one.
I have zero prejudice against Mormons and this is not a slight to Mormons. The Book of Mormon is a musical comedy with music, lyrics, and book by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone. They created South Park, Team America, and Avenue Q, so that should tell you volumes.To say it is theater genius is an understatement. The show was awarded nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. I took my wife and daughter to see the show on Broadway in 2019. We already had listened to the cast album quite a bit, but that still didn't prepare us for seeing the show performed on stage. I looked around at an audience that laughed hysterically between having their jaws dropped in disbelief.
I reached out to the drummer who played the show from the beginning, Sean McDaniel. I asked him if we could meet him, and he was beyond gracious and kind. He met us, introduced us to cast members, took us backstage, and helped my daughter take a picture with the show's lead. Sean is one of my idols, so meeting him was an opportunity of a lifetime. He is one of the most prolific Broadway drummers in history. So this is my tribute to Sean. I transcribed his part note for note and played it as he did. At least I tried to. He will watch this, and I hope he remembers playing the show fondly and recognizes what I am playing as his work. It was my intention to cut some video of the singer Andrew Rangells in the lengthy intro of the song so you would not have to watch me sit there. Unfortunately there is only one video of Andrew singing this on the web, and he took some liberties with singing it, so the two videos could not be synced up. The story about 2 young Mormons being sent as missionaries to Africa and encountering a war lord culminated in the 11 o'clock number, "I Believe". Despite its very off color material, BOM is one of my very favorite shows on Broadway. To everyone watching this, I mean you no disrespect and pray you take no offense. It's just a great show, and this is a great song.
