I have been Catholic my whole life and I was never taught the TRUE Catholicism.... in my homeland Honduras or in the United States until a year ago when I Sensus Fedelium popped up on KZbin. I just wish that I would have learned all of these good things for salvation at a very young age....and not when I was 45 and I have done so many things that are agaist true salvation. Thank God that we have Holy Priests who teach the true teachings of the church. Thank you so, so much for having this KZbin channel and feeding us with the true. God bless you. Greetings to you from the District Of Columbia. Viva Cristo Rey. Ave Maria Purisima help us to be better followers of Christ my only KING. Amen. God be with you all.

The earliest liturgical language of the Church was Aramaic - as it was spoken by Our Lord when He broke the bread at the first Mass, which was the Last Supper - but that goes without saying. As the twelve Apostles and the seventy Disciples began proselytising beyond the Holy Land and converting the gentile nations of the Empire, the Mass was said in Koiné Greek, which was the vehicular vernacular of the eastern half of the Empire. The primary liturgical language of the Mass only switched to Latin in the West around the 400s AD, largely due to/thanks to the outsized influence of the North African apologists (and later Church Fathers) - most notably Saint Augustine, Saint Cyprian, and Tertullian - who were thoroughly Romanised Berbers who spoke, wrote, and preached in Latin rather than Greek, as Latin was the administrative language of the western half of the Empire. So, our friend, Señor Jorge, isn’t wrong about the absolutely undeniable ancientness of the Latin Mass - more than a millennium before the Council of Trent - but placed the cursor about two centuries earlier than I would have. God bless! “Ave Maria,” indeed!

a table. 😢 If even that. Sometimes I hear it's just a pulpit from which they scream their own thoughts, and (forgive me if I misunderstand Protestantism's many divisions) they don't even recite Holy Writ, much less recognize "The Sacrifice" of our Lord Jesus Christ (to whom all knees *will* bow). From what I understand, and I've never been in a baptist place to my knowledge, they don't believe in "the Sacrifice of Jesus" *at all.* They blaspheme, possibly in great ignorance, by thinking "services" are about being told how to apply their Bible (chopped up as it may be) to their daily lives so they can get worldly blessings. I assume many of them have good intentions and know no better.
@alhilford23453 жыл бұрын
From what I've learned from youtube sites, we can't generalize, because each Protestant denomination seems to make their own rules, and even then the laity have the option of accepting the rules or not.
@MelanCholy20013 жыл бұрын
@@alhilford2345 I guess that's true. I haven't seen Protestant Masses on YT. There's one who I guess is protestant and he has a Q&A, but he never talks about what their Masses are like. He seems aware of the Bible at least, and says okay things so far (I'm not a regular), but I don't think he's a priest or has a Bishop. I'm not even sure what his "ministry" is for. His chat sadly draws in some heretics, and I mean the "vile" kinds like "Black Hebrew Israelites" and Calvin-worshipers (I'd never heard of the former until that channel). He DID consider Catholics "his family" or friends, which was fun; he has a grasp of the Bible that is compatible with the Church _so far._ But I fear if I saw a Mass he did, I'd run. I saw an old 1970s or 1980s Billy Graham thing on KZbin that was pure terror. He yelled anti-Christian sentiments and I clicked off of that tripe. It was "uncomfortable" to say the least! He may have been just a speaker/talker with no internet access, because no altar or table, but it was like he thought HE (Graham) was the altar. I can't abide stuff like that. He had to have been a Protestant or a Mormon.

I believe that as a community of traditionalists this is how we need to change our tone about the Tridentine Mass. Let's begin to focus solely on it's beauty and stop using it as a point of division within the Church. I think our militant love for it is simply stoking the fires between the traditional community and the rest of the Church, particularly the bishops who may see it as a threat. Let's set aside, end deriding and simply ignore non-traditional elements of the Sacraments, the liturgy and the Church. We need to focus on the gorgeousness of the Tridentine Rite and its overwhelming spiritual benefits!

@sweetcaroline20603 жыл бұрын
That's just a Protestant way of looking at it. There is no sublime reality to it in the Novus Ordo. It deliberately focuses on the people and a communal meal. I started going to SSPX.
@marynadononeill3 жыл бұрын
Anthony, this is a very wise statement. Division and anger from either 'side' is a mistake. We must hold fast to the true faith with open forgiving hearts. Our mystical traditions and practices are the treasured core of our faith and must never be stopped. The 'fight' attitude however needs to be dropped.
@anthonyburke30003 жыл бұрын
@@marynadononeill I agree on every point except for one. I believe we should fight, fight to restore and preserve the traditional treasures of the Church. However, the divisiveness, the deriding, the "us-versus-them" attitude needs to cease! We should lovingly correct our brothers in Christ when they are in the wrong but we must not use the Mass as a point of division! Lastly, as traditionalists, we should wholeheartedly be advocating for a dignified, reverent, Latin-based Novus Ordo! It comes from the Church, it IS the Mass and it NEEDS to be dignified and I believe that traditionalists are the ones who can make this happen! P.S. Thanks for the kind words. I hope we all can turn this cultural attitude around. We need to show those outside looking in how much we love one another, not how divisive we are!

My God! So what is the altar in today's novus ordo? Where is the reverence? In one of the pictures, during consecration the priests vestments are being hold in the air. It reminds me the description of the high priests entering the Holy of Holies (like Zechariah) and having a rope, so if he was not coming back soon enough, the people outside assuming he was dead could pull him back with that rope...
