I hope this encourages you to pick up The Book That Wouldn’t Burn by Mark Lawrence (and his Impossible Times trilogy!). If you’ve read TBTWB, I’d love for you to share your favorite quote in a comment!

I've been in a serious reading rut lately, but your videos are exactly what that bookish part of my brain needs right now. Thanks, Sandra!

Sorry about the reading rut! That’s a stinker. Hopefully something catches your eye and is able to snap you out of it! Did you ever start reading 3BP?
@AeroEagle3338 ай бұрын
@@SandrasLibrary Thank you! I’m still in the middle of Pillar of Ash, but 3BP is next up for me. I was enjoying PoA, but I just don’t feel like reading right now. It’ll come back to me I’m sure!

Excellent review. You made so many great observations. I recently enjoyed book1 and like you, I saved it until bk2 was due for release. I did feel like I rushed the reading of it and I totally agree with your advice to take it slowly. I did immediately want to reread it,with the hindsight of knowing the plot. This was my first Mark Lawrence book and i ioved the themes in it. I know you've mentioned the impossible times trilogy to me before and I really should start it

Yeah you should! Hahahaha But really, it was a good book, and one I’ll return to again, it’s just a slog at times on the initial read. I’m curious about book 2. I do love all the characters, though, and the premise!

Thank you for your review, I just started it and I agree with the struggle to focus on the story. I find it hard to immerse myself due to the amount of characters and details, and I tend to get lost (especially with English not being my first language but that's another story). It takes more investments but I will get there!

I have so much awe for you in reading this book despite not being a native English speaker! It's impressive. The plot is complex and really layered but it does eventually come together really nicely. Lavira's and Evar's stories definitely kept me turning the page. You will get there, and I'm curious to hear what you think!

Stupid me bought the book that broke the world first, thinking it was an only book only to find out later the book that wouldn't burn came first I had to make a quick dash to waterstones to buy it and glad I did I really enjoyed it and found it hard to put it down

Ha! At least you didn’t read it before realizing it was a sequel book! But let’s be honest, you were just looking for another reason to head back to the bookstore 😂 Now onto book two!!
