If you were born and grew up in the Jim Crow era and you are black, chances are you hate Uncle Ruckus. But if you were born and raised during the war on drugs and after, Uncle Ruckus is the funniest thing. It's like this because back then, the hate for blacks during Jim Crow was too real. Nothing like it is today. An Uncle Ruckus type person ain't gonna do nothing but make your reality harder having him around. It's funny now because Ruckus could only exist in a cartoon.

Ruckus is just in denial. Sometimes he refuses to acknowledge he is black, instead stating his color is due to a skin condition (re-vitiligo), other times he gladly bunches himself with how black people are treated, like saying "I was happy at the back of the bus". I think he knows, but just utterly refuses to admit it. Doesnt help that to him the "white man" is infallible and as such he feels any ill treatment he receives from them for his skin color is justified. Even if its something like cops having a REALLY itchy trigger finger around him XD

There are 4 seasons of this show. Perhaps you should go by episode. Start at season 1 episode 1. Then you can get a better understanding of the whole show and characters. I'm sure you may be shocked but it's funny as hell. And they do use real life stories that happened and you can look them up.
