Hira Mikijiro is/was an excellent actor, one of the very best! He is wonderful in "The Two Poor Ronins", as Zuiten in Nobunaga, Sword of the Beast, etc. Always cool, calm, elegant and with great wisdom! This film is lovely, lighthearted, with likeable actors and great music! Again, many thanks for the upload! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟:)

What a wonderful quintessential, handsome, impossibly elegant figure of a samurai!!! Impressive classical fighting form, pure poetry in motion in swordplay. I’ve seen hundreds of samurai movies, but this one is exceptional❤

This actor has alot of finesse, the way he moves with his sword, they become one, and his walk is so straight, his words has a lot of knowledge, I respect this type of samurai movies. This art you can learn about 5he life of a samurai. Great job to the producers and people who works hard behind the scenes.

He moves from pose to pose, and he has wonderful gravitas, but his actual movement in swordsmanship is not as trained-up as other actors in this genre.

Really appreciable. Swordsmanship isn't precisely top-notch, in the combat scenes, but then again it's not the main focus of this film. I did enjoy watching it, thank you!

He is the old-time Japanese version of John Steed in the 60s British TV show "The Avengers," and the "princess" is his Diana Rigg. Thanks for showing me this, this is the first time I ever heard of it.

According to Wiki. in Japanese, this drama was originally broadcasted on TV in Feb. 1983,(probably made sometime in1982?) the bored samurai was played by Mikijiro Hira, who was 50 years old at that time and the actor sadly passed away in 2016.ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%97%97%E6%9C%AC%E9%80%80%E5%B1%88%E7%94%B7_(1983%E5%B9%B4%E3%81%AE%E3%83%86%E3%83%AC%E3%83%93%E3%83%89%E3%83%A9%E3%83%9E)

Is this a comedy? he introduced himself like his the narrator of his own story, the chilli pepper scar and the long arse name, but hes not blind, or "silent", hes just bored, until he has an excuse to chop some mother-effers up The fighting seems slow compared with zatoichi or musashi, not my cup of sake, he's too boring ;)
@MsLouisVee Жыл бұрын
I have compared him to Musashi and Zatoichi and in my eyes he’s just as good and elegant. so smooth. Good moves. that’s all I can say. I’ve never seen this actor before, but I’m very impressed
