Our farmers around here where busting tale to get the corn off before the storms come today. Even if he did yell, you would not have heard him in that cab. I think he'll be fixing that radio. Please stay safe, and God bless.

Seems like a lot of work our farmers due and just probably break even, but it’s something i would do even if that’s what happens. Thanks to all of our farmers for your service.

Hope you are enjoying this break from round trips to Kansas. Maybe you will be ready for those trucking trips when this harvest is done. Interesting to watch.

There is a reason they call it a "Harvest Moon".... back in the day before electric lighting... farmers harvested as long into the night as they could see... by moonlight if able.🎉... getting the crops in is paramount to survival....both then and now.🎉

There was a guy when I was in the Marines.Sgt asked him why he became a Marine.He said ,my dad is a farmer and he used to work us from sunup to dark so when he put lights on the tractors to work at night that was the last straw.Then I decided to join up.

In your country, farming is done with very modern machinery, but in my country, it is still mainly done by human power.
@truckingwithschmidt7120Сағат бұрын
It is definitely done in different ways throughout the world

Just amazing ! What Farmers go through. Does Lance keep all of the silage and cracked corn for his cows or does he sell some of it ?

Someone educate me. Where does "silage" fit in between wet corn harvest and dry corn harvest? Thanks.
@truckingwithschmidt7120Сағат бұрын
Silage is the entire plant, wet corn is just the corn itself. It's just at a higher % of moisture so it will pack better
@scottp.5161Сағат бұрын
How many bushels does the combine hold?
@truckingwithschmidt7120Сағат бұрын
I think 500. We rarely let it get over 250 to 300 before we are chasing it down to empty out

@EmptyHandshake8 сағат бұрын
Corn chaff. Which is stalks, leaves, corn cobs. It will turn to mulch eventually, useful for next year's crop.

I don’t see how Farmers make it. Plowing, Planting, Harvesting. Machinery, fuel and manpower. I go to Rural King and buy a fifty pound bag of cracked corn for eleven bucks. The Company selling it to Rural King has to buy it from a farmer, bag it, ship it etc. where is there any profit ?
@stevejoramo80137 сағат бұрын
Dry Shelled corn is priced about 3.80 a bushel, so there is some profit, but if the farmer gets it, don't know.
