My mum ordered the 3D glasses required to watch this show from TCC (the children's channel) for me and my sister. After my sister lost her pair at the Leopardstown West Wood swimming pool, she destroyed mine my placing them under a sofa cushion and jumping up and down on them.

You don't need specifically their 3D glasses, you just need shades with one dark lens. It's called the Pulfrich Effect and it's not the only show to pull it off.

Yeah continuous blaring isn't uncommon especially in Saturday Morning cartoons, because the thought was that if there isn't constant sound, kids'll get bored and probably change the channel Edit: we do need episodic shows again. Theyre not "dead" but they're put aside in favor of serialized shows. Imma sound my age but I blame the bingewatch model essentially killing audiences' patience for episodic series. And the best episodes of Star Trek were always the episodic ones. Like all the weirdo horny episodes or the ones where Riker gets trapped in a mind prison. Thats what Star Trek Picard needs. Picard getting it one with an alien succubus while Riker gets trapped in a mind prison

There has to be some middle ground between, "We've spent three seasons not solving this one murder but at least we've got a lot of other people killed along the way," and, "We solve everything in under 22 minutes because all the characters are amnesiac sociopaths who'll get bored and wander off if it takes any longer." I can't imagine what it could be, though.

Oh god, that 3D gimmick is just the Pulfrich effect again, the same thing they did for the amazingly terrible Doctor Who: Dimensions in Time Children in Need special. Basically one eye in the glasses is darker than the other, making things that move side-to-side appear 3D. The result is, naturally, completely rubbish and the fact everything needs to be constantly in motion for the effect to work is entirely nauseating.
