Im curious about the butterflies, ive seen them turn up in alot of vids when opal is near, so why cant a device be made to sniff it out the same way?

@christianbuczko1481 2 жыл бұрын
@@raik8243 no its not, ive seen it in many vids on a few channels. One theory is that they can detect high moisture associated with areas where opal forms which is why they land around opal seams.

What happens to all the holes they dig when they leave?are they filled in and the ground levelled or just left as a scar on the landscape?
@ResortDog
@ResortDog 2 жыл бұрын
As compared to every landslide on a mountain range or fault zone? Life has tracks AND remember that mine is NOT done so dont waste all the diesel it took to dig it twice.
@minimushrom
@minimushrom 2 жыл бұрын
@@ResortDog Are you saying that in general, worldwide mining causes about the same level of damage as worldwide landslides?
@ResortDog
@ResortDog 2 жыл бұрын
@@minimushrom NO. All mining is insignificant to what the earth does every 6 thousand years, well the Sun and a failing magnetic field racing around the planet pull the chain.

Why are they cutting through the middle of the ore instead of chipping around the opal that is inside? Doesn’t it reduce the price of the gemstone?
@niftyjim8255
@niftyjim8255 Жыл бұрын
because you cut up that many boulders or rocks with nothing that it’s just a waste of time to do it any other way. i know it seems like a big waste but trust me it’s the only way
