Dude? Dude! Dude!?!?!? WT 12 as a warmup? What I want to say is something I don't think I can post here. Although, it is only because I love WT and I have never even tried WT 12, much less had the opportunity to use it as a "warm up".

It literally has nothing to do at all about contacts. A bar in Louisville KY that is about 9 minutes from my house called Neat(They are a fantastic dusty bar) sells it in the bottle shop. They have a warehouse full of it. Or at least they did a couple months ago when I bought my last one.

Starter - Bowman Bros Small Batch. Daily - New Riff SB ... these started showing up in my area recently and I have blown through two already. Hipster - Chattanooga Whiskey Founder's Anniversary bottles ... love these things. Small Circle - Jack Daniel's Ten Year ... guilty pleasure because they're overpriced by the middle man distributor here. Big Circle - ASW Fiddler Georgia Heartwood ... local guys who are doing excellent stuff and most of the time people who haven't tried it love it.

but they live in bourbon land so their prices are no where near what i have to pay in michigan. pipe dream is reasonable tho at about 40

WT 12yr-149.99 Old Forester SiB-69.99 Exception Series-depends on the bottle and where you get it from but can be anywhere from 120-240. EC23-399.99 King Of Kentucky-429.99 These are what I paid for them. Secondary is so up and down depending on if it is national or local. I just don't know enough about it to say honestly

@@bourbonkingdom thanks for the info! We were in Louisville in March and was able to grab the WT 12 yr. I’m saving it for a special occasion before opening which shows the levels between us 😂 Obviously, if you guys prefer not to talk about prices then I respect that. I just see stuff a lot more rarely. In 3 yrs of hunting I’ve seen 2 bottles of stagg and both were $300. Hearing guys like you and the bourbon junkies say “don’t pay more than $150 unless you just have to have it” is helpful info for me to have whenever the time comes. At this point, I wouldn’t pay more than $100. Another one I saw recently was an OF BP for $120. Not a ton of info out there on what to pay so hearing your insight is helpful

For “night starter” I am going with Buffalo Trace; lower proof so you don’t get that first pour burn, and it is mildly flavored so it doesn’t interfere with subsequent pours. For “favorite daily” I am going with OF 100 rye; it’s affordable and can stand up in mix drinks. For “hipster bottle” I am going with Redwood Empire bourye. For “small circle” I am going with EHT small batch; it’s going to appeal to everybody’s flavor wheelhouse, and is respectable. For “bottle share” I am going with Evan William single barrel; I don’t necessarily want to pass around one of my prized bottles but it’s also interesting to see how it will stand up against other bottles that are likely to be higher priced.

Starter- Eagle Rare Daily- Bardstown Origin BIB Hipster(at 59 have a hard time even typing that word)-Dettling Cask Strength Small Circle-An Elijah Craig 12 yr old small batch that I’ve had for 15 years and although I’ve shared, not very often. My other that I’ve shared more often is the ‘23 Michter’s 10yr bourbon Bottle Share- Belle Meade Cask Strength Reserve

Hipster to me is a vague category, if you think about the circle of people you are usually around it would be something that no one really knows. I am the only person in my circle of friends and family that has branched out on the regards of enjoying whisky. My m.nlaw is close to trying things but that is cause of me. So all my other bottles to them are "different and hip"

King of Kentucky is a dream pour for me. I'd say my starter is a DT store pick. Daily is any New Riff product. Hipster is a Dettling single barrel. Small circle is the JD 2020 special release SiB rye. Big circle would be any unique single barrel I have on hand whether that be OF, NBC, RRSP, etc.

Redwood Empire Pipe Dream is a great starter, Green River is too. For daily I go to Early Times BiB, but Green River is sneaking in there too. Hipster? dunno. Small circle - EHT, EC or KC 18 yr, WTMK Unforgotten, Bottle share - anything Bardstown.

I love how we just make videos about bourbons that 90% of us can’t even get. Out of all of these I can literally only get the pipe dream which I will agree is a great starter. I guess I need to start a channel just to get some of these bottles

I’m going to go in a completely different direction on this one. I guess you could say I have only two categories. The first one is the whiskey that I probably will never share with anyone and that includes family as I have a few bottles that I love over all the others. I stumbled onto these bottles by dumb luck. The second is all the other whiskey I own can be shared with anyone and drank at any given time. It doesn’t matter the cost, availability, proof or occasion. I put all my whiskey into a randomizer wheel so that if I can’t decide what I want, I spin the wheel and whatever it picks is what I’m drinking that night.

I usually don’t do a warmup. But when I do, it has been either Eagle Rare or Anderson County 15 year. My turn to be bougie. My everyday pour is Russell’s 13. I’ll vary up the batch depending on how I feel. Hipster, I go to either Hard Truth or Sagamore, but I have been delving into James E Pepper more lately. Those decanters are great. For the small circle, Dusty Turkey decanters from the 80’s. I may break out a BTAC from time to time as well. Usually a good year depending on who will be there. For the large circle, Jack Daniel’s 12 year batch 1. It’s a great whiskey and still underrated. On occasion, I’ll bring out a THH or PHC for a large group. I can’t keep bringing the same thing every time. I usually mix it up.
