Considering the subject here, it would have been funny if Kate had "assassinated" the Dom at the beginning as he was about to start the video, assumed his identity, and then did the whole video as if she were the Dom ... but I'm just grateful you're well enough to write your scripts and keep producing videos at all, Dominic! I love your sense of humor! :)

I'm not german but that's not really long word even for other language standards (I recently was told that polish word "przeciwłupieżowy" [anti-dandruff] was really horryfic, so maybe I'm also biased) And what the two words in this comment section means? I think the end of the second one means key to captain quarters door but the rest is gibberish)
@Nejvyn
@Nejvyn 4 жыл бұрын
@@ololo518 It's not per se gibberish, but since it's a word made up for the sole purpose of being long there's not much merit to it. The first one literally means "company specializing in shipping steamboats on the Danube" and the second one is, as you said, the "key to the door of the captain's quarters on a ship owned by said company". Btw the longest German word that was actually used in legislation is "Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz" (RflEttÜAÜG) ("beef labeling supervision duties delegation law")

1. Consider yourself glared at in an "I warned you" look, from your last screaming fit in the Mystery episode. 2. That Movie Chick did an awesome job. Not only did she do the narration well, but her skits expanding on the points at hand were done extremely well, too. You know what's the problem with "In Name Only" becoming successful franchises on their own? Imagine if someone wanted to do a faithful adaptation of the book. They couldn't, because even if they have barely nothing in common, the ones making the movies still hold the rights.

Knowing that you wrote her script for her makes it a little more obvious. You just have a unique way of talking. That being said, she did a pretty good job making it sound like it was her opinion. I'm also glad that you wrote it in first person. It's much better hearing "In my opinion" or "I found" rather the "Dom thinks" or "Dom found" since it would sound like she had no idea what she's talking about and just giving off second hand information. I did try to read this but the author lost me when he went into ludicrous detail about banking, if I recall correctly. The movie may have been in name only, but was considerably more accessible. Well done to your temporary replacement, stellar job! Get better soon, Dom, we need your velvety tones back to caress our world weary ears!

Lovely review! No wonder I felt there was something off about the film compared to the book, thanks for verbalizing it for me! I read this book when I was in elementary school and became my basis for all spy books since. I thought it was nice that the book gave a lot of tips on how to be a spy, Ludlum's seemed very descriptive. It's only in retrospect that I realized how thick that book was and how it could have been more blunt/direct in some things. Also, the part where Marie got kidnapped and *you know* flew over my head as a 10-year-old. It's only now that I remembered that was there or understood what was happening then.

For the comment about the story being exceptionally long and necessary detailish, maybe that was just the style for spy novels at the time? You did talk about a similar issue in "Goldfinger" about how there would be entire pages going into specific nuance details that could have been just as easily said in a few words. Such as with the golfing scene.

A Suggestion: Logan's Run ~ Lost In Adaptation. I first came across your channel in early 2015, when I just 11 years old. I loved your videos and you were one of the first KZbinrs that I ever really watched. I forgot about your channel until tonight and I just binged watched all of the videos that I had missed. It is so crazy to see how your channel has grown since it first stared and I just wanted to let you know that your videos made me become a more avid reader and a much more critical movie watcher. keep up the great work!

You should put a still image of your face over your guest hosts every time they say "I" or "me" in the script. Bonus points if you're making a funny face in each of them, lol!
