Water pressure doesnt work like that. If you can actually survive it and not die it takes very little energy to move down there. Deep sea life are mainly low energy lifeforms they arent super strong. If wolverine didnt die he could just walk along the bottom

I just want to point out, Wolverine leaves at the end of X-Men 1, then returns to the school at the beginning of X2 which means, at most, he spent 2 weeks with Jean (during which time she was married to Cyclops) before she returned as Dark Phoenix and starting vaporizing everybody. I think the plane thing is a poorly adapted holdover from the comics. Comic Logan hates flying because of the fear of water, but it's not tied to being stranded in the middle of the ocean; it's because the adamantium makes him so heavy that he'd sink to the bottom.

I just never got how Yashida in this thought Wolverine would go for his "you give me immortality, I'll give you dying" offer. Because first of all, Yashida, you don't know this man. I don't care how much you've seen this man on TV doing flips on the top of the Statue of Liberty, unless your spies found his diary and read that he hates being alive you don't know what he feels about anything. Maybe even if he does wanna die, maybe he's so selfish about it he wouldn't offer you immortality if you offered him something GOOD instead of death. Here's an idea offer him a free stay in like a hotel or whatever, and then while he's sleeping get a bit of his bone marrow. I’ve always liked that his “tenacity” is actually just rage directed in a positive direction (mostly) but he’s not really in control, the scene where he bashed the dudes in the bar for example. His similarity to Magneto in that way makes them great counters to each other…when he tell Erik he’s a survivor like him. That much trauma over so many years he just throws himself into danger
