The Bow is ALMOST back to normal... kind of... | Ch 5 E 95 | Steel Boat Restoration

After so much time and work, tearing things apart on our sailboat, we are finally putting parts of the bow back on! We clean up the bow roller and the windlass and get ready to put them back on the boat!

13:17 them things are great for cleaning old gaskets off.. i think i still have about 1000+ of them. They are heaven sent for us mechanics..

Nice job getting the pot puller installed :) We call those 3m roloc discs cookies. Try cutting the larger stiff paper ones into a star and octagon shapes, they gracefully get into tight spots like the inside corner of your bow roller. There's also abrasive bristle discs that work well for finer, more textured work. I cringed when you opted for removing the epoxy rather than bevelling the stainless lol. Keep it coming, I'm enjoying my warm armchair hahaha

I think the bow roller should have a smothe axel to spin on so the threaded rod dosen't chew in to the roller. drill roller out for 3/8" pipe and use it as the axel run threaded rod through this will also make a spaces so the side pieces dont draw in to pinch roller.
