Like most people who enjoy art videos on KZbin, I've been following The Box Office Artist aka James Raiz for ages! And this week I had the honor of working with him on a collab piece! James was working on a Minecraft video on his channel and wanted some of the art colored. So we met up, he showed me the piece and I got down to work coloring his awesome illustration of the Minecraft Box art in his style, with Jason Mamoa cast as Steve.
And I felt like I couldn't leave it at just that... so I decided to animate the drawing a bit as well and make it into a Motion Poster! Oh, plus before all this I did a quick 'Illustrator Reacts to TheBoxOfficeArtist's art'!
And through the whole process of working on James' art, my main focus was to not ruin it and to make his drawing shine as much as possible! While I go through the digital colouring process in Autodesk sketchbook I also give tips and advice on how to color work like this.

Just finished watching both videos! This is one of my favourite collabs I have ever watched, your colouring style works so well with James' inking style I could totally see this as an official Minecraft cover art. The most amazing thing about this is, James was the artist that actually made me begin art so he was a crucial part of my beginners art stage; and your videos has made me carry on working on art whenever I feel like I can't do it in my intemediate phase of art. So this collab is just perfection :D

I was new to the Channel, it looked great! I've had Marvel, and DC comics since I was about 4 years old, and I had all the No1 editions in the 1960's. I became a graphic artist for computer games, and now I want to make a graphic novel, so you guys are showing me what to do.
