Gil was my music teacher since 1st grade. I used to always look forward to music time with him. He was the reason why I enjoyed music class at the time. I remember the Turkey Trot song he sang with us, and watching him conduct the elementary school band in concerts. I will never forget him, because he was part of the reasons why I love music so much. RIP Mr. Barakat 😇

We can all relate to this deep song of struggle, you did this poetic song the ultimate justice. Being of your generation I made sure my adult kids saw your performance and yes they love it. I come back often to get my fix even though S&G were always one of my favorites, your version is my first choice of “The Boxer”.
