I agree. I was lucky enough to attend this great show (allthough the Tour of Life, as far as I'm concerned, was even more magical) but this decision not to release a dvd/bluray of that fantastic event for all the people who couldn't witness this always sounded so obscure and unfair to me.

Agreed! Knowing that these thibgs will appeal only to her biggest fans, charging £500 for what is basically 2 half-records and a couple of blocks of foam stinks of milking loyal fans. I'm really disappointed in her for this tbh, been a fan for 30 years. She gives us crumbs and demands prices that are simply out of reach for a lot of people during the cost of living crisis that's going on. Even the Baskerville edition is just a flashing light in a cardboard sleeve. The vinyl isn't even coloured or special - but there's a separate purple vinyl too if you have more £$€ to give her. There's also some other merch like a rather nice umbrella for £40 but if you want to order that and a vinyl then you have to pay 2 separate P&P charges for some reason!

As you say it does smack of squeezing the very last drop out of loyal fans which is a shame. I have always had huge respect for her and still do but I won't be buying any of these "specials" and will carry on playing the ones I already have.

It’s new boxed sets she’s released - on her website they’ve basically rereleased remastered versions of the albums and they’ve got new merchandise there too. This video is promoting the new “boxes of lost at sea” and the video that was uploaded yesterday was for the new vinyl “The Baskerville edition” which is a special edition of Hounds Of Love and the video shares some information about Kate’s writing of “Cloudbusting”

The assumption that technology would on balance be used for the benefit of people is beyond naive. And such a video does not lend itself to such a distinction and so suggests a general consent. What adds to my growing suspicion is that only a few days ago she put out a video that at 3:12 sports a cloud *producing* _(geo-engineering)_ application of Wilhelm Reichs "cloudbuster" ! And now the whole design of these boxes is displaying an affectionate naivete towards a techno-futuristic takeover. I wonder whether the last saint in the music industry has sold her soul and been assimilated by the borg.
