I think the saddest part of this video is how real this is. For when the child said, “I never existed to you”, it’s very evident that the parent most likely just left the child in the bath for a moment to attend to other matters. Parents like this, even if it’s just a few, exist, barely caring for their little angels. This is also supported by how it says, “I know you heard me”, implying that the parent cared more about what ever the hell they were doing than their own flesh and blood that was crying out for help. The design is just as horrifying, even if you removed the bathroom for the scene, you can still tell what happened by just looking at the design. ‘Show, not tell’ is always the best storyteller and Doctor Nowhere struck it out the park with this one. This video seriously resonated with me, the feeling of being neglected. While of course, it isn’t to the same degree as this poor kid, the “I never existed to you” was just so impactful to my own personal life, the feeling of not being cared for emotionally is extremely detrimental. Please stay safe people and ALWAYS watch out for your children/brothers and sisters, children RELY on you to keep them safe, this poor angel deserved better.

Theory time: This is about a parent who accidentally drowned their baby. “your body remains unclean from the toils of yesterday” is talking about how the parent feels dirty/unholy for what they have done. “A shower will make you better” is the parent’s conscious telling them to revisit where it happened, so they go to revisit the bathroom to try and find closure. The being/boy that they find is the grief as a character. The being (who I will refer to as “the boy”) haunts the parent for what they have done, pushing all the blame on them. The parent closing the bathroom door is a metaphor for the parent pushing the grief out as a coping mechanism, and the boy reappearing in the room is the grief following them, no matter what they do.

When this happened I screamed in panic and my mother came to help me and ask me what happened. I couldn't sleep in months after this. The creature I saw looked exactly like this one. I have long forget about this incident but now I look at this and I really don't now what to think, I really feel like this video is directed to me and also the message "I never existed to you" makes me wonder a lot. my guess is that the person we see the pov of had to (or was forced into) having a child. because of how unhappy she was, she gave herself an ab0rtion in the bathtub, which is why it says "your body remains unclean from the tools of yesterday". she feels incredible guilt from this. this also explains why it says, "I never existed to you". she feels like if she maybe defended herself more, then it wouldn't have happened. if she had just said no, this wouldn't have happened. her parents wanted her to keep it, which is why there's a crib in the beginning and end.

This hits me on a new level. The boy is obviously mad and resentful for being neglected and left to die but in a way.. he seems sad not just because he died but because his parent is clearly remorseful and guilty about what they did,i can relate to that on a personal level. That feeling of guilt, sadness and regret of being mad at your caretaker and yelling at them only for that anger to turn into sadness as you see them show guilt and remorse. Seeing a parent cry or be sad is the saddest things a child can go through. No matter how much resent or hate you may feel for them, in the end they are your family, your blood and you can never really bring yourself to hate them fully.

Glad to revisit Doctor Nowhere's office! "I never existed to you" was more heartbreaking than it should've been. This monster doesn't even feel scary, just .. Pitiful. I think this film gets the jist of what guilt feels like to me, a haunting presence that refuses to leave me alone. I salute you for that 🫡 Edit because I have a short theory: Everyone here is saying that this video is about a mother who is dealing with the guilt of killing/letting her child drown in the bathroom. But with the title "the boy and the bath", I like to think it was actually the child's older brother, which makes this a little more saddening. I also noticed that the top of this entity's head is cut clean off, perhaps this has some sort of symbolism to it? Maybe about a 'brainless decision' as someone else put it.
@Rainbowsyoungersister7 ай бұрын
That’s actually a good theory.
@Rico-ei3zt7 ай бұрын
I really like that theory. The phrase "I never existed to you" while applying to how a neglectful parent may see a child can also very well apply to an older sibling as well, especially a younger one that doesn't yet really comprehend what it means to be an older sibling. Maybe the brother had a new baby brother/sister and like many older kids, they were getting adjusted to the new baby being around. Maybe they didn't really like them being around and chose to ignore them most of the time. Maybe there came a time where the parents had to do something or leave and so had the older brother watch their sibling. They instructed him to give the baby a bath while they were gone. The older sibling, maybe not fully realizing how dangerous it is to leave a baby alone in the tub left them in the tub alone. Maybe it was just supposed to be for a minute. Maybe the brother just wanted a snack or to grab their phone, not realizing that in just one minute everything can go to Hell with leaving a baby unattended in the bathtub. With the phrase "I know you heard me." I can imagine the brother hearing the baby splashing or crying as they grabbed whatever it is they needed, but the brother ignored them thinking that the baby was just being fussy and not realizing until too late that something was wrong.

This video really resonated with me, growing up one of the punishments I got when I did not do well on tests involved my parent groping me while washing me in the shower. I don’t know what inspired this video but something about the character of the boy in the bath just perfectly encapsulates that feeling of guilt that haunts you after standing up for yourself against someone who the rest of the world says only wishes you well. What they’re saying makes you guilty and remorseful, but you can’t shake the feeling that something is terribly wrong and you have no idea why they’re so terrifying even though they’re meant to be the good guy. Whenever I’d protest against punishments my words were always used against me and ultimately I was taught that protesting meant I was betraying and abandoning the person who cares about me the most, and I feel like this video managed to portray that confusing feeling of not knowing if you’re the one hurting a person or if you’re the one being hurt by them in a very creative way

I know most people think that the protagonist killed their child intentionally, but I think that this is something more real and terrifying. I think the main character was the boys mother, and she miscarried her child in the bathtub. This explains the appearance of the boy, proportions elongated, figured thinned, neck being dismembered beyond any sort of recognition. The things the boy says are almost like the mothers anxiety if her child knew what happened to him, and now the mother is having night terrors. Idk, something to throw out there

No what the hell how did she reach her hand into her mouth to grab her baby out and give it a bath seeing it was dirty?? And how was it dirty in the first place?? It also says "the boy and the bath", not "the miscarriage and the bath". Another thing is that the boy is mentally evolved, and newborns aren't that smart, and even if he was an extremely smart newborn, why would he be blaming his mother then? And if she really miscarried there, how did she leave her child to drown?? So many holes in this comment.
@Ash_404_He-They6 ай бұрын
I may not personally agree with this theory as a whole (I have my own theory on this, but let’s see if I can help bring some perspective into this. “No what the hell how did she reach her hand into her mouth to grab her baby out and give it a bath seeing it was dirty?? And how was it dirty in the first place??” I don’t understand what you’re saying here? It’s never explicitly stated that the child was the one having the bath, and the child’s age is never specified in the video. “It also says "the boy and the bath", not "the miscarriage and the bath".” Okay, but you are claiming that this video is about the mother murdering the child. With this logic, the title isn’t “the murder and the boy”, so this theory is ruled out too. See what I mean? That’s kind of a dumb argument to make, and the title was likely kept vague on purpose. “Another thing is that the boy is mentally evolved, and newborns aren't that smart, and even if he was an extremely smart newborn, why would he be blaming his mother then?” The monster we see here in the video could be symbolic, not literal. It could be a metaphor for the guilt the mother feels, not a literal spirit of her unborn fetus. “And if she really miscarried there, how did she leave her child to drown??” If she miscarried, then the child wouldn’t have drowned, but rather died in the womb. Her leaving the child to drown isn’t directly specified either. If you are referring to the line “I know you heard me” in regards to a child crying for help when drowning, then that is a fair argument. However, a counter argument of a different interpretation of the line could show how it rather conveys the fact that the guilt will never go away, and how the mother blaming herself can never fully get rid of the guilt, no matter how hard she tries to “shut it out” (symbolized by shutting the door on the spirit). Hope this helps clarify some stuff! :) (And yeah I know that this is an old comment but idc so here)

It's amazing how such short video can make you feel so many emotions. What makes this so scary, is that it is so short that you remember everything the entity says. You can almost play the whole thing in your head again before you go to sleep or when you go to the bathroom. But more than scary, it makes you feel bad for the creature, ngl it makes me cry when i remember it. The poor thing deserves the world. Pls make a sequel where he and "the girl" play toghether or something lol

when you make the viewer feel empathy for a monster, it creates a second level of horror that feels like it sits in the room with you as you watch. its so hard to explain but you do it so well. especially here, because to me it didnt feel like this creature wanted to injure the viewer. there was no urgency or danger. it just wanted answers. and thats incredibly tragic
