I think the sorry was more because he knew when he pushed her out the window she would be saved but most likely would never see her family again. much like Victor's sister leaving and victor being left alone.

Sarah said she was convinced he wasn't a boy at all. That may be the form he takes to get the townspeople to trust him when he is trying to guide them. People often find it difficult to trust other adults, and they have questions, but a child is perceived as innocent.

Honestly this makes sense, the boy in white is not part of the other 7 kids that were sacrificed, he does not look as beaten down as them nor is he helping the town in any way. Why do I say he isn't helping the town? The kid can speak!!! This alone puts him in a vastly superior position to help the town and yet he doesn't. Dude is evil.

@@michealarchangel637 That also brings me to another theory that he is more than just a ghost. Remember when the kids surrounded Tabitha and begin coming towards her shouting anghkooey, none where actually making contact with her which you could see when the camera show her just being terrorfied. Now with the boy in white for some odd reason he was able to push Tabitha out of the lighthouse tower despite being a ghost so I'm now thinking he is like one of those creatures but in a different way.

Ok, why not just killing her on the spot instead? He's evil and saved Sara by sending her to the church after getting in the farway tree because...? He speaks and that's a bummer, because everything would work best if he would only point out things and just pushed Tabitha without saying a word. However, they're probably gonna throw some limitations on what he can do or say to justify him not taking. The sorry is obviously about her getting hurt on the fall. It's the only way she can get out and try to help the rest of the people getting out of there. It's quite clear IMHO.

I have two theories about why the boy in white lead Boyd and Sara to the tree: 1. He didn't know where they would end up but thought it would still be better than being in the woods without shelter at night. So the BIW did not have a deeper motive than just simply trying to help them. 2. In order to escape from fromville the people trapped there have to defeat all the monsters and evil entitys that exist in this place. The BIW knew that Boyd would end up with Martin, because he belived that Boyd was able to defeat the worms/cicadas. He knew Sara would go back to the town because she needed to help Boyd by finding the music box. By destroing the music box the evil entety was defeated. The question is how does the BIW know these things? The show is stuffed with the theme of opposites, light - dark, above (town) - below (caves), day - night, good - evil, life and death, fear and bravery... I think the BIW & the dog in the woods are the manifestation of the good and light in this place, the monsters and worms are part of the evil/bad. Since many of the people in fromville had to deal with some sort of traumatic live event right before they saw the tree (loss, divorce, addiction, dementia...) it make sense that they have to fight a physical manifestation of their own demons in order to escape the place. The people who had positive live changes like Kristy, Boyd, Jade where led to fromville in order to help the others. - Boyd, an retired military guy brought structure and some security to the place - Kristy, a medical student can help the sick and wounded residents - Jade, a smart tech guy who is brilliant at puzzles, finding solutions and and obsessing over details. I belive that the people who arrive in fromville are not random. Everyone has a purpose and a specific role to play. Not sure yet where to place the white children Tabitha saw. But I have a theory about them as well. There are seven children. Seven is an important number in any mythology and story. (7 Apostels, 7 deadly sins, 7 plagues, 7 dwarfs, 7 days of the week...) We see the children lying on what looked to me like ritualistic stone blocks when Jade went into the caves. They where in a kind of trance saying the word "Ankooey" whatever meaning that has. So I belive these kids once were part of a ritual that used them to create fromland. Their fears became real and part of the woods. Their energy powers the electricity in town. Maybe they select the people that come to fromville hoping they will save them. Victors mom once tried to save them but failed. Tabitha got sent back into the real world to find Eloise (victors Sister) because she maybe knows something that can help the people of fromville to go home as well.

i thought it was more interesting that he said "this is the only way" than the apology, still not convinced he is there to help & that this representation is his true form. he directed boyd & sarah to the tree that sent boyd to the tower where martin infected him & set something loose that is now laughing at them. that doesn't seem benevolent or what an entity that wanted to set them free from the town would do. maybe he can move the trees around & change where they send someone, it seemed like he placed that tree there or chose it for them purposely when boyd & sarah were getting thrashed by the storm. he could be the reason victor has been able to stay alive & survive there, but we still don't know why victor is still there & if he is choosing to stay in the town & the from world. i've always wondered if the white clothes are a misdirection & it just gives him the appearance of innocence & this youthful we're on a winnie the pooh adventure feel when everyone is really in a horror story manipulated by a trickster entity. or maybe it's a double secret reversed psych misdirection & he really is a good force that will keep everyone safe like a catcher in the rye & lead them back to the real world & happily ever after. who knows, lot of maybes in from, it's like the quote from 2010: The Year We Make Contact, my god it's full of maybes

One thing that is interesting is that "The boy in White" is able to physically touch Abby. At least he can at the top of the tower. I thought he was incorporeal until that moment. He can also vanish without a trace and move far distances in no time. It's like he is a god for a lack of a better term. Also, he seems to know the rules of "Fromville". He can interact on many levels as he has demonstrated. After closer inspection of the map. I believe it is the roadmap to leave. I think it is a rules-based ritual that probably involves sacrifice. Perhaps fromville is a prison and it needs a certain number of occupants to maintain its separation from "the real world". Also, I can't help but notice Victor is often wearing a red shirt. Could be a coincidence.

To me, this is what Zathura is to Jumanji; a not so direct sequel to LOST. Even the title implies it. So, I see the boy in white as Jacob, the guiding entity that knows pretty much everything about the place where they are just like Jacob knew everything about the island. The yet to know evil entity is the man in black, and the town, the forest and everything happening there is the evil he wanted to bring to the world by escaping the island. Just like the man in black, this entity uses the figure of dead people to 'guide' others as he wants, in order to fulfill his agenda. It may seems like Khatri, Tom and Abby were somehow helping Boyd and Jade, but in fact they were leading them towards the events that will 'release' this entity. Remember how LOST characters went back to their reality/past when Juliet detonated the bomb inside the hatch? The same happened to Tabby with the boy in white and the lighthouse, that by the way, in LOST we had DHARMA's The Lamp Post station which was used to locate the island as it moved... So, I do believe the unknown evil entity is, in fact, the same as LOST's smoke monster, man in black, Locke trinity, but won't be addressed as such but probably with a different background, remaining the same in essence. We even have the black/white duality with the chess game being a recurring element in the first season, the fact that day and night are very differentiated in terms of narrative, the colors in the cave paintings, I mean, this is too much like the next place the man in black decided to use to fulfill his agenda. A new island, new survivors to play with, a new type of infection to spread, a new Jacob to hate... LOST 2. Believe me. They even heal in this town like characters healed In LOST's island; cancer cured, people walking again, getting pregnant when it was impossible... I mean...

With what we know so far the BIW pushed Tabatha out of the lighthouse to continue the "cycle" or "free" her from Fromville. I used to think the boy in white was benevolent at best, but now I think he interacts with those in From only to move the "cycle" forward. It was because of the BIW that Boyd encountered Martin and Tabatha was led to believe that she needed to get to the tower only to find him there while the children are actually seen near the “inukshuk” or in the cave/tunnels (one exception was outside of the barn with Julie). He hadn't been around for years until the Matthews arrived when he began to engage Ethan, the last Victor had seen of the BIW was when he beckoned him forward through the street strewn with dead bodies finally settling down on a spinning (representing cycles) children's ride while giving Victor a flourished and somewhat congratulatory gesture with his arm before disappearing for years. I didn’t note any actions taken by the BIW to protect Victor, as a matter of fact, it was his mother who placed him and his sister in the cold cellar and we haven’t been given a reason to believe that the BIW warned her, we actually don’t know why she knew what was about to happen in From beside her believing that if she saved the children in the tower that they would be freed. And finally, we have the BIW apologizing for having to push Tabatha out of the lighthouse because ""This is the only way." The only way for what to happen? Again this seems to represent the BIW needing to take actions or influence the actions of those caught in From to forward the cycle of the story but not necessarily help them ALL escape or put an end to From.

the red monster kinde looks like a giant pure tentacles version of cthulhu and the "symbol" could be a portal with its tentacles sticking out looking at how all the white stick figures surrounding the "symbol" thats larger then themselves and one of those tentacles reaching outside the symbol

The Boy in White's whole line was "I'm sorry, I really am, but this is the only way," so everything you are theorizing from 2:10 is wrong. He's clearly apologizing for what he's about to do, or the brutal way he has to do it, which is to push Tabitha out of the lighthouse through the window. No doubt he knows the consequences of purposely leading Boyd through the farway tree to the dungeon, which were not good at all. And you're also wrong to identify the evil entity in the dungeon with the red monster. This evil entity is just one step up in the jerarquy from the night monsters we know from S1, which are the tip of the spear. We still have a long way to go to meet the red monster.
