You can tell Karl Urban is the veteran here. Keeping to himself, letting the other two take the spotlight. When you play in Lord of the Rings (two movies), a Bourne movie (Bourne Supremacy), portrayed the successful rendition of Judge Dredd and is actually better (IMO) than the Butcher in the comics.... you can have that slight smile on your face and stay relatively quiet, too.

They could do maybe one season after Homelander's death but it would have to be with someone that's already been established. They could never get away with the network television cliche of introducing a new bad guy and instantly making him the main villain.

Star and the writers have to be lauded for creating the most heinous fictional character I have ever seen. Homelander causes an actual visceral reaction I have never experienced with any other character. Star’s eyes, facial expressions and vocal inflections put him on a par with any “villain” performance I can think of.

Hmm... I acknowledge its your perspective, and Homelander definitely is a psycho with no redeeming qualities, apart from what he does just to keep his PR going, but honestly I also find the character quite tragic, when taking into account his life experience. I mean, the guy was Made in a petri dish, everyone around him has always treated him like some instrument or a weapon, not a sentient being who has needs and wants, and he was always pressured to live a lie for someone elses gain, while actively ignoring what such treatment might do to someone like Homelander, who already is so different and alienated from everyone around him. Personally, I find someone like Joffrey Lannister so much more morally repulsive, as that brat got basically everything he wanted, and was made to feel special, despite him actually being a cowardly moron, who was incompetent at everything, except for sadism, which was what drove his mojo. Granted, Homelander also has some of the same traits, but I dont think he enjoys hurting others as much as it just relieves the pain he himself has accrued over his own life.

Yeah, that's the main thing with Homelander. I think writers are also aware of it - they just cannot write Homeland off until the very end. He is just too important and the biggest selling point of the show. Any other character can go away, but not Homeland.

@@minuit6305 I recently watched all Xena episodes on TUBI. You can tell when he played Cupid he had a blast and realized how silly it was. And yes he has almost a Jason Segal or Bruce Campbell sort of unique face. I imagine the moment they called cut he couldn't help but to laugh. Even Butcher I cannot imagine him not finding the accent, dialogue, and silly shirts funny. He just seems like a great sport with it all. Butcher is my favorite character on the show, and Karl is a big part as to why that is the case.

Idk why it’s probably not but something makes me think it COULD be tom cruise? He’s a huge action star (and I really admire his dedication to his films and he seems like a really nice guy) but a lot of people hate that he’s into Scientology which can be pretty messed up in certain parts from what I know. Not sure what parts tom is involved in but a lot of people disagree with all of it. Again, I’m not sure if he’s ever met tom or whatever but it seems like a good guess. A couple of hours ago I was entertaining the possibility that one of these characters might die in a surprising way, and wrote about it in a comment section of a different "The Boys" related video. Then I came across this video, and the moment they were asked whether they would prefer their character make it to the end or die in a surprise twist, I realized that if there is a place to share that perspective, its here, so here we go. Its not something I want to happen, as Starlight has become one of my fave characters in the show, because imo her personality has evolved so well throughout the series, but thats exactly why imo her death would be quite the payoff to her Arc, considering the increasing risks she takes to do what she perceives to be morally right, Especially in "Herogasm''. Also, imagine how that could advance the story for Hughie, who also has had quite the journey over the series, and who Ive empathized with since day one. He claims he is "doing whatever it takes to save Annie", but based on the last conversation between the two, its clear that his motives arent as pure as he might think, which is exposed by him obviously becoming corrupted by the power Temp V affords him - and it Totally makes sense, considering who the guy was at the beginning of the story, and what he has gone through since. Therefore, imagine who Hughie could become after Annies death, and what extremes he would be open for, when taking into account how far he is willing to go already. I mean, the moment in "Herogasm", when Butcher told Hughie to get away before SB blasts Homelander, only for Hughie to get back at him with "No Fucking way!" - I felt that...

If you kill Starlight you have to kill Hughie, too. He'd be useless. There's no way he survives Annie after Robin. His life became "support Annie." He'd curl up in a ball and stay there till Homelander comes and puts him out of his misery.

@@dhpennell3 Well, now, after the last 2 eps of s03 have come out, my theory didnt age well anyway, and honestly I was left quite disappointed, as the potential after "Herogasm" was huge, but now... Also, Hughies character was on a dark path, but he already wasnt so hot about going with the original plan anymore in 3x07, and my original idea stemmed from him possibly going even darker, which imo would have been slightly more interesting than what we got, even if somewhat uncharacteristic. Therefore, the possibility of Annies death might actually push him to go all the way like Butcher, and the conflict Butcher might feel in that case could also be cool. Either way, Im just spitballing, as anytime a series releases a good episode, excitement just inspires creativity, and I wish that what followed 3x06 was more important...
