This scene adds context to Soldier Boy. He starts talking about something from his youth which he obviously would only be able to do with much older people. He finds her attractive based on character rather than appearance because it reminds him of his past life before becoming a Supe. It reminds the viewer that Soldier Boy was likely born in the 1920-30's and that at this point he's mentally an 80+yr old man.

That's only half the truth the worst part is discovering that Soldier Boy who is in this person's perspective a fraud and to make it worse this fraud is the father of homelander. The actual Soldier Boy was never dead and has been watching everything around the world for the last 70 years. He is waiting for his moment to strike and unlike any person who has taken compound V has joined the seven or even enrolled in that cursed University the man I am referring to has revenge in his heart and wants nothing more than to use homelanders skull as an ashtray. His name is Jackson Walker who was at the time known as Soldier Boy but because of his fraudulent cousin he lost Fame he never wanted because he was bound on killing Nazis like Friedrich Vought and Klara Krisinger for what they have done to his family what he has become. To make it worse the Nazis Legacy lived on in homelander who is not even a man he was just as Stan Edgar described bad product. Jackson views him as an abomination who is responsible for the death of all those people and among the victims of the flight 37 accident homelander killed Jackson's son Richard Walker and his wife. Then he did what was considered extremely cruel homelander violated Jackson's granddaughter Rebecca. Jackson Walker was basically tortured by science, the military made him into a hero and all of that made his existence last too long. He is a superhero who lost everything but he does consider William butcher to be the perfect grandson-in-law he also views the boys as his family and despite who his father is he does accept Ryan because he is all that's left of him. All he hopes for is that he will use every ounce of his powers to not only destroy homelander but he hopes that William and Ryan will have a better life knowing that they are free of homelander he wishes for the boys to have regular lives and if all of that is accomplished then he will have the best way to die peacefully.

This scene adds a lot of context tbh. Hughie obviously feels bad about leaving Starlight and M.M behind. Butcher reassures Hughie but noticed the brain rot in Hughie’s ear, which foreshadows Annie finding out the side effects of V-24. Soldier Boy making out with the housekeeper shows why he prefers older women. Despite still looking middle aged, he’s an old man on the inside.
@SamPapa33311 ай бұрын
i agree with everything except the last thing, because, firstly, he didn't really lived all those years, he was sleeping, and even if he was awake it's not like he experienced anything to make him feel old in the inside, but most importantly, you think old people prefer old people? No, I just think he likes old women, not even milfs, just old women lol, thirdly even though she is old she wasnt "Soldier Boy's age" old and we saw him have a trio at... I don't remember the guy's name even telling Hughie that old women are more juicy or something like that wich means he prefered old women even before being taken by the soviets.. Now MAYBE it's a way from the writers to remind us subliminaly that he's old.. But he's defenetly not prefering older women because he's old on the inside, its like a guy waking up from a coma 20 years later, never felt the time pass by...

And then right after the show punishes the shit out of all 3 by making them out to be assholes. SB probably would've been happy to kill his old team, retire to some island and live out the rest of his days surrounded by 80-year-old beach babes, Homelander is inarguably a growing threat to the entire world and I don't blame them at all for striking while the iron was hot. So far this was the closest anyone has ever come to killing the main villain of the series, very strange to me that its treated like a mistake or poor-judgement after-the-fact. Like oh no, these poor superhuman sex freaks got hurt, how could Billy Butcher, the man who hates all supes, and Soldier Boy, the man brought in to depower/kill supes do this?

Soldier Boy in comics was born in 1919, so it's obvious he's not a pervert to romance young females, he preferred someone who is of his age. But it is awkward to see this haha!

Why was this deleted, this is a great scene

Damn I wish this was kept in, just rewatched season 3 and one of my major gripes is Hughie just seems like a major dick and seems to show no remorse until he's called out for it. If this scene was not deleted I would've not had that complaint as it shows he has concerns from the start but its because of Butcher's praise that he keeps on going

this show is a gem because each and every actor here are in perfect place, I don't know another show that has so many alpha characters
