I thought that Keith Prentice in the 1970 original had more subtlety. This guy is too campy.

Yeah I sort of agree. The 1970 one is my favorite because they seem like more real. They act like real friends and less like characters and or stereotypes just made to be stereotypical. Sure in some ways the new one is good but in my personal opinion the 70s one is a lot better.
