I suspect that they'll tease the trajectories you suggest, but both will ultimately fail back toward the middle. Perhaps a better way of saying it is that while A-Train might try to redeem himself and the Deep might attempt to be more villainous...they're both going to be very bad at it.

Remember the scenes in the teaser of the season where Kimiko fights Neuman’s now superpowered daughter and MM faces off against a supe that breaks itself into two (See the teaser again and stop at 1:04 and 1:08). That could be it 3- We’ll Keep the Red Flag Flying Here: “Red Flag” here is probably used to mean Blood and the boys are probably on an adventure to another country.
