Homelander was knocking at the front door of the person who raised him, in part turning a sweet child into the narcissistic man-child monster he is but who raised him from a small child. Anthony Starr showed all the emotions of respecting his "father", hating his father, having such a taut history, while looking around to see if his vulnerability was being observed. Starr is so damn impressive in this show.

I think the majority of us can safely assume that Homelander isn’t like the other supes. He’s faster, stronger, and seemingly the only Super of his Type. I mean yeah, other supers have Laser Vision and Flight but none comes close to him. Even the Second strongest hero (Maeve) is leagues behind him. We can also assume that he was given Multiple doses of Compound V( OR It could’ve been a Stronger experimental version of V). If you have watched the Final Episode of The Diabolical TV series you can see Little kid homelander fight a guard (Guess he wasn’t unskilled in combat after all. Tbh, I don’t know how we didn’t notice that before. In one of the earlier seasons when he interrogated starlight he knew which parts of her body to put pressure on), But we also know he broke the sound barrier when he was a kid. Those 2 events could’ve taken 2-4 years apart. Guess, They made him stronger than others but they also had to force him to harness his powers properly. Homelander was trying to teach Ryan about his powers but he didn’t know how to teach him properly.

I’m Back! Some of my Points are Correct but some were less accurate. Homelander IS the only Super of this Type produced by Vought. Aside from Ryan ( Who is Homelander’s Son) nobody else is quite like Homelander. Even his Own dad Soldier Boy only had Super-strength on par with Homelander originally but the Russians gave him a Type of Nuclear Blaster that takes away Supe’s Powers. It’s been shown that Soldier Boys Beams are tied to his Emotions. In some instances this Blast can completely waste away Supes (see Herogasm for reference) and sometimes they do almost Nothing. Proof of this would Kimiko and Maeve. Kimiko still had enough strength to endire multiple beating and even was strong enough to Break a Russian mobsters finger despite being hospitalized not long ago after loosing her powers courtesy of Soldier’s Beams. Another Example is Maeve. Who after being blasted & loosing her powers while falling from a Great Height didn’t have a scratch on her when the Boys found her. So It could be safe to assume that If the Blast doesn’t fully kill Mid to High tier it shouldn’t be more than a Temporary Pain to Homelander. And since Ryan is a Natural Born Super and stated to be even stronger than his Dad it would be safe to think that The Beam would have virtually no effect on Ryan after he fully harnesses his powers like his Dad. So Far, The only kind of Superhero that Homelander can’t even hurt if he Tried his Hardest would be the ones with Intangibility Powers and Mindcontrol Powers. Both off which exist in the Boys Universe. As for my lesser accurate statements, Maeve was not intact Leagues below Homelander considering she put up a Pretty Good Fight and even managed to make Homelander bleed quite a Few times. Herogasm also showed a Team Effort of Mid-High tier Supes can deal with Homelander for a Limited time. I still think Starlight should’ve joined in on the Herogasm Fight instead of trying to help to Morally bankrupt Supes. It’s also to be noted that there are Materials than can take Homelander’s heat vision for a Limited time so it would be Possible for The Deep to have enough Endurance to take Homelander’s Lasers point blank with little to no Damage considering he can pull of feats like swimming in the Deep sea’s of the Mariana trenches. The show has also shown us that Homelander will not use his Superspeed during a Fight because of Unspecified reasons unless he plans it out or uses it for Escaping. So a Supe like A-train can temporarily stun Homelander and get a few Hits in. We thought that Homelander couldn’t fight but this was proved wrong in Herogasm where he showed off a few of his Techniqued Blows and accuracy with his Lasers. Anyways, Since the myth of Homelander being absolutely Invincible has been Shattered in the Show and we have seen him on the Verge of Death we should have no reason to Fear him. Because a Competent Group of Heroes can just come in and Take care of him. One last Point to make but it’s about Leadership and Teams. Homelander was looking for a Family so he should’ve been placed in Payback since they actually had a Soul and were good enough friends with eachother to take on Soldier Boy. Homelander likely would’ve found His Super Family. Meanwhile, Soldier Boy should’ve been in the Seven. It’s been stated that The Seven are powerhouses in The Boys universe and they have the capabilities to ho on Military Mission. Soldier Boy treated his Original Team like a Military Unit. So If he was in The Seven he would’ve had a Blast training Others to their Limits. Phew, I’m done. Back after 10 Months and gone again!

Diabolical is not canon, it’s more of an adaptation of the comics than the show. We can even see in the homelander episode how diabolical debunks the first scene of the show. In the first scene when the truck robbers take the kids hostage, homelander melts one of their guns, rendering it useless. In diabolical, when the ecoterrorists take hostages, homelander tries melting the guy’s gun, only for it to explode and blow off the guy’s hand because shocker, bullets have gunpowder in them. He then proceeds to get berated by both the ecoterrorists and hostages for doing something so stupid.
