I have to see this house before I die. I grew up in a horribly abusive home and when id get to watch this show, it gave me hope for a normal life one day. I used to have a fantasy of being one of the Brady boys and I'd pretend in my own mind that I was and would be going home one day. This was literally one of the very few mental escapes I had from our home and I do believe it gave me the strength to keep going and hopefully one day have a happy normal life.

I grew up watching the Brady Bunch, my absolute favorite family of all time (I'm 59). I think if i were to step over the threshold, I'd break down crying. It would be like icing on the cake of life! I didn't grow up under the best of circumstances, and this home always represented security and comfort to me. The attention to detail is superb, and I'd be exclaiming "I remember this!" about 1000 times 😂

But you are seeing it through the magic of the interwebs! It's much better than a television tour of a famous home years ago today with KZbin we can stop it, rewind it, fast forward it and pause it to scrutinize something we want to really get a good look at. Not to mention watch it many times over.. in some ways it's better than actually going there. That's a lot to be grateful for today!

Wow. That is amazing! I cannot do that, but I can probably identify the plot within the first minute of most episodes. They could have a contest like that for the next tour winner. Sort of like a Name That Tune thing, but instead, Name That Brady Bunch Episode where contestants watch the first minute or two of The Brady Bunch, and they have to be the first to buzz in AND then they have to state the correct basic plot for that episode.

Yep. the show was filmed on a set. Only the outside shots (during the credits) were of this actual house. They purchased this house, and decided to make the inside look just like the show. Another 70s kid here. The Brady Bunch was and still is one of my favorite tv shows. Light, silly, innocent fun with fabulous fashion choices! So much fun to vicariously tour the house with you! Side note: that car they have in the carport is actually not the same year as the one Marcia drove for her driver's test. Same make and model, Chevrolet Caprice Classic convertible, but the one Marcia drove was a '74. The one they have in the carport is a '73. When you did your side by side comparison, I noticed that right away. But it's close enough! Only a car nerd would notice lol

This was amazing. Grew up watching this show. The Brady's defined for me what I thought (and didn't have) family was all about in America. It was the ideal of everything great and good about America at that time (even if a lot was illusion). I so miss the 70's...and 80's. And 1000 thanks to the 2 lady's renovating this house and giving our joy back. It's an amazing achievement on just how much detail they are doing. The Brady's would be proud of your efforts.

Thank you for sharing this extensive tour of the house. It was fun watching you all geeking out. It brings out that childlike wonder and excitement that I think we all wish we could tap into just a little more often as adults. The lucky winner of the contest is going to be over the moon when they get that call! 👍😁

Hi Scott. I thought Alice's bedroom was right across the kitchen and Mike's office was right at the bottom of the stairs. I'm almost positive of this. I watched every episode at least five or six times. I remember it was on Friday night at 8 every week. Thank you Scott for sharing

This episode is absolutely incredible!! Who didn't love the Brady Bunch?! AND!! I was so hoping you guys would get together and do one of the Brady songs at the end, and YOU DID!! Gosh, who wouldn't love the opportunity to walk through this house! What an amazing experience it was just to watch it. I can't even imagine what it must have been like to actually do it. How awesome for all of you 😊 Thank you for bringing this to all of us through the magic of YT. You just out did yourself AGAIN!! Btw, I was so scared those cards were going to come tumbling down any second 😂

The irony is that Brady Bunch was never filmed inside of this house. The outside was only used as a backdrop. All of the interior filming was done at the studio. They actually made the real house look like the old studio set.

In the mid-1970s my parents split up when i was young. About 5-6 years old. Mother retained custody of us kids. After the split, she turned into this psychotic, abusive monster. I turned towards watching LOTS of tv as a way of providing myself with escape and comfort from my misery. Out of the many, many tv shows i watched in daily syndicated reruns, the Brady Bunch was (and still is) my number one favorite tv show. The Brady Bunch tv show more than just entertained me. It helped me to preserve what few shreds of sanity I had plus provided me with much needed happiness, laughter, and joy in an otherwise joyless existence. More than once my mother said to my face, "I wish you were never born." Can anyone see Carol Brady saying THAT to any of her 6 kids? Much less multiple times? The Brady family i saw on tv is the family i wished i had. Nice, normal, loving, no abuse, etc. My desire to belong to the Brady Bunch family was so intense, that on more than one occasion, while I slept, I actually dreamed that I was a Brady family member. They are easily the fondest, most happiest dreams I ever had in my lifetime. Dont get me wrong. I had no illusions. I was well aware that the brady bunch wasnt a real life family. Just a bunch of actors playing a part. But at the same time i just knew that the fictional brady family was much more closer to how a real family was supposed to behave. And much, much more closer to happy, loving, and above all, NORMAL than my real life family, home, and circumstances. I swear, if I ever get rich, I too am building for myself an EXACT replica of the Brady Bunch home.
