I am relieved that having the gene(s) does not necessarily mean you are a killer. But imagine the danger if this testing were used to determine if you are a dangerous psychopath or not, rather than only identifying the characteristics you may possess? Given the way humans are, it seems unlikely that they will not jump to prejudicial conclusions.

That's why the conclusion nowadays is that the only way to know if someone will be violent, is if had committed violence already. And even yet. There's a possibility it won't happen.

The main problem with psychopaths is that they do not care. Even though he had a good childhood, he could still do something wrong and wouldn't care about it. That's the issue here. I'm glad he's not a killer and everything, but even his son admits that he was scared of him on several occasions, so let's not pretend that this guy doesn't have the potential to be more dangerous than the average person.

The family reaction seems more post-information justification and rationalisation than helpful information. More interesting is the question of why these "triggers" are not active in Jim.

They are. He just doesn’t share some things he has done. He has admitted to ruining peoples lives. Getting them fired. If that’s in academia that’s life ruining. You can’t get a position in any university. Not saying I know. Just saying he’s actually said in other interviews he’s done things to people. Including violence.

This makes me feel better about my teenage kids. Sometimes I wonder if they're psychopaths, but have been prevented from acting out by being taught morality at home. Imagine being, say, a "latchkey kid" in a crime-infested neighborhood. All those genes would be triggered and you'd rarely have anyone there to implant a purposeful morality. It explains a lot.

I have come to the conclusion that good and bad are relative terms. I know many people believe these are absolutes, but then they start saying it's ok to harm others when you are protecting your family from robbers or enemy soldiers (which is a good example of relativity because the enemy soldiers are saying the same thing). It boils down to 'them' and 'us'. It's ok to harm one of 'them' (whoever is a them to you), but not a member of the 'us' group. Some empathic generous people see everyone on the planet as 'us'. The problem for psychopaths is sometimes there is no 'us', just a 'me'.

Interesting, but as you stated it is more than just the genes. Some of the items brought up reminded me of an old movie I saw on TV, I think it was called "The boy's from Brazil" and in the movie they were trying to clone Hitler. They addressed the part of the life experiences that had to happen in order to turn on the Hitler in the clone. I think the movie was made in the 70's or early 80's. But it is interesting to see they knew that it was more than just genes back when that movie was made.

Just because he hasn't "killed yet" doesn't back up the theory that psychopaths are not killers. In the video his family says that he has horrible rage and that it is bad enough to scare them. He also says that he shares traits such as impulsivity and aggressiveness and lack of empathy, compassion, and emotion. His family also says he has a dual personality with extreme personality changes. He can be smart and nice, but then have horrible rage and scares people. Together these are dangerous traits that are a set up for potential murder- whether it be planned or unplanned. I believe that all psychopaths have the qualities needed for them to all commit murder or dangerous crimes and have no remorse. All it takes is for something to unleash their rage- which is very easy- since they have explosive tempers. In addition, their lack of empathy and compassion also cause horrible emotional abuse on their families. Living with a parent or husband or dad who has horrible rage, and dual personalities is an emotional hell. Essentially they kill their loved ones emotionally right down to their soul. Whether they actually physically kill someone or whether they just inflict emotional abuse- essentially they are still killing their victims. I believe that psychopaths are born that way. Their brains are different. They are like reptiles- very cold blooded- and nothing can or will ever change them. And they don't care or want to either.
@AnonyTests
@AnonyTests 6 жыл бұрын
Sandra Schrader - Sweeney Ok physical killing is not the same as killing someone emotionally, big difference. Also, why do many people assume psychopaths are murderers? Who freaking made this up? Saying that psychopaths are murderers is like saying all men above 40 are pedophiles, which of course isn’t true. Not all psychopaths are murderers, psychopathy by itself does not drive you to kill or cause harm to others. Please stop the diffusion of this myth because it’s utterly ridiculous and irritating. Killing someone (on purpose) is a whole different topic and there are DIFFERENT reasons for a man, woman or a child to commit a murder, sometimes a trigger isn’t required. Yes it is complicated dealing with psychopaths, especially if it was someone who lives with you. But nevertheless they aren’t destined to be killers or abusive or anything like that. Some psychopaths are peaceful, some psychopaths are dangerous, some are neutral. Understand that.

Just because a psychopath has never killed someone, does not mean they are not dangerous. Firstly, there is a million and one ways to hurt people, without killing them. Secondly, there is always a first time. Psychopaths can kill a person for the first time when they are upwards of 40 yrs old. Maybe they went their whole life without so much as getting a speeding ticket; but then suddenly they commit first degree murder. What I'm saying is that past history is really meaningless in determining whether or not a psychopath is dangerous. Even if they kill a person when they're 25 yrs old; well, they lived for the first 25 yrs without so much as hurting a soul. See what I mean?
@BEEBEE159
@BEEBEE159 3 жыл бұрын
@Mohammed Ali the g I disagree with you. There are many ways to kill a person, apart from taking their life. Psychopaths will get you fired from your job, for example, which could lead to your family being destroyed. That is killing a person, in effect. Psychopathic people would love to kill people; but the only thing that keeps them in line is that they don't want to go to prison, so they will kill you in other ways, that are not considered a crime by the authorities. Everyone has experienced these kinds of people. Personally, I was married to one for 25 yrs. She tried to push me to suicide, among other things. Again, they are murderers at heart; they just don't want to go to prison.

You could always seek psychologists' counselling to improve your social skills further. Sociopaths & psychopaths have similarities according to psychologists: Both disregard rules Both have highly disagreeable personality Difference: Sociopaths love position of power or to be close to somebody in power. They become ceo or love to work wih big boss or ceo Psychopaths do not love position of power in a society. They do not like to be in the center of attention, that is for sociopaths.

It doesnt have to be a psycopath. The same symptoms can be for a few reasons. Psycopaths enjoy hurting others, to not care is not exactly the same thing. There is so much that it can be. Some do not understand others, some know but dont care. Then some know and do care but cant help themselves for some reason. And then some others who pretend to have done something as an accident to get away with it and continue on as they are behaving.
