Christmas definitely came early in Nigel's house! I cannot remember the seeing you as excited about a build as I have today. I am really looking forward to watching you build this Nige.

To replicate fiberglass take a well used dryer sheet (fabric softener) make sure it's well used, three or so cycles in the dryer. Then take that sheet and Tamiya or other acrylic paint and lay down the dryer sheet like a layer of fiberglass. Mix your paint to mimic the yellow tan color of the original. Then a coat of semi gloss clear over the top and bam! Fiberglass. I used this on the Tamiya 1/12 935 and it came out great.

A very nice kit Nigel, one of the big differences between the Pocher and the IXO model is that the IXO model has working parts like the headlights en brake lights etc... The tubelar frame of the IXO model is casted in one metal piece. Also the left and right rocker panels are in metal with the IXO model. The dash and seats of the IXO model are not flocked. There are other smaller differences but to many to enumerate them all. The IXO model has also more parts and more metal parts than the Pocher model.

Looks fantastic, better value for money than a MFH kit. I would definitely be interested in a version with all parts still on sprue to complete my own detail painting at a slightly reduced price. Cheers for the unboxing!

Tempted Nigel but may wait for the next one. Need to reduce my stash as I intend to build all purchased and still have the Dambuster to do from Border Models. Amazing kit and I believe worth the price looking at this unboxing.

Hi Nigel, What a beauty and wonderful kit too, amazing! I will dig in the saving account, I'm pretty sure my wife will be okay with that😊, actually, that will motivate me to sell stuff on ebay. I wonder if the price is going to remain the same after release, probably not. It's great to see your enthusiasm, like a kid on Christmas morning. Now, I have to watch "Le Mans" again... Good continuation 👋🏻

I get a bit of a double feeling here. It looks friggin' awesome, but it's all painted and ready for assembling. So the Lego factor is big. Bigger then I expected. I mean, where does assembling a kit cross over into building a kit or vice versa ? Prepainted body and larger parts is okay, but each individual part removed from the sprue and painted ? Now part of that is to be expected from Pocher. They are not regular scale model kits. Their target audiance is different too. It's the case for the Lambo and Duc etc. just the same. But they went a big step further here it seems. This can be positive too. Less risk of this build dragging on for months if you paint everything yourself, it's a huge amount of work. It could drag you down. Dunno. Horses for courses I guess. Nigel's idea about a basic cheaper version makes sense. Just the sprues without pre-painting each small part. There's a lot of labour cost involved there. I could be a whole lot cheaper. In the end, perhaps you shouldn't think about it too much. I'm sure building it will be a joy nonetheless. And the result awesome. But, I guess most of us are here for the ride, not the destination. I'll have my final verdict after seeying Nigel build it.

I guess it's a "can't please all the people all the time" scenario? People complained of the "all one colour" moulded items, so they took a different route I guess? I will be stripping/sanding and repainting some parts for sure.

I was wondering why the bodywork was not in plastic, a bit like the fibreglass on the real car, all other details seem to match the original car?

You’re like a kid in a candy shop Nigel. Looking forward to watching your build of it. On another issue I would like to contact you regarding the Lancaster. I have bought the Border model and would love to build it to represent the machine my father was a W/O in during WW2. I’m not up to your abilities but enjoy your builds. I would like to email you if you can help me Regards Michael Melbourne Victoria Australia

Very nice model idd. I remember with the Lamborgini for the body parts there was a color difference between metal and plastic. How is that with the side panels with this model?
@NigelsModellingBench5 ай бұрын
The orange is a far better colour for coverage an also the orange plastic skirt is not sitting against any metal orange painted parts. It is only when the parts are next to each other we see the difference.
